What is the site full of, high school kids?

That number from the website was there for a couple of years, other numbers on other websites. The occupied height number is directly from the DOB website, which is the only thing you can go by.

Ah, gotcha.

If the occupied space is indeed 1,519' then the top would be ~1,650' even with the shortened crown.

Seems far fetched but maybe if the stars align. Here's to hoping.

of course, as also noted above, taking that as a grain of salt is another way to read it. we all would prefer its that haha.

Manhattan’s next supertall, 175 Park Ave, begins to take shape
Jake Nicholas

Quote:
RXR and TF Cornerstone have officially filed new permits for 175 Park Avenue, a 95-story, nearly 3 million-square-foot mixed-use tower designed by Skidmore, Owings & Merrill, and stacked among heavyweights like One Vanderbilt and JPMorgan’s new headquarters, is marking a major leap forward for the long-anticipated transformation of the Grand Hyatt site. Rising directly beside Grand Central Terminal, the tower is poised to become one of Midtown’s defining vertical statements, with prior plans targeting a height of roughly 1,545 feet.

New York is pushing forward one of its most ambitious skyline plays yet, as plans for a massive new supertall at Grand Central continue to take shape.

Dude, you yourself could make a video on this development, and it would be just as factual. You know enough by now. Impossible to build over a subway station? No tenant signed? Financing?

Record jobs and fat real estate leases make finance the No. 1 industry again.

175 Park, which will be the tallest office building in the Western Hemisphere, is in talks with financial service firms and law firms and other professional service firms. It will be very expensive to rent space there.

“Two years ago when people came to our marketing suite to see what we planned, I would mumble when they asked the cost,” Rechler said. “Now I just tell them and no one blinks.”

Well there goes the neighborhood.
I've never thought that they would "allow a building to be taller" than the Empire State & Chrysler building in midtown Manhattan, but Money 🤌💵 talks. 🤷

There's no tenant aside from rumors and speculation.

Could they find one? Sure. Could they not? Also yes.

You don't know that there aren't any tenants, because you aren't involved in the leasing of the project. There is no speculation, a person in the know, one of the few who would know about something that hasn't been publicly announced yet, has stated there was somebody lined up. Will that be the only tenant in a building with 2 msf of office space? Obviously not. But you don't know what's going on there, and neither does a talking head in a video. Now, on to your next point.
