Interesting that there will be two colors of spandrel, with the courtyard having gray spandrel. We shall see how it will work in the end, but I really like the black one.

They have been installing a lot of glass in the recent weeks, but I am still surprised how small the windows will be.

Here are a couple of pics from earlier this week showing more of the grey spandrel. The blue on the trim should be disregarded because I think it's just plastic film.

Interesting that they went with window wall versus curtain.

They have a lot of ledges which will define the curviness of the building - so window wall makes sense.

PS - a good shot of the project would be from Nelson St.
- a bit farther away and the west façade look massive.

Thanks for the idea. I went walking down Nelson Street today to the part that goes under the ramps and took these pics.

Thanks!

That's the view I see from the car when driving over Cambie Bridge...

Looks like 6 more floors to go on the NW corner.
The undulations have changed a bit since this model.

I also went for a walk over the bridge on the west sidewalk and took these pics.

Ha, my hood.

This building looks quite massive in person for only having so few floors. I think it will look great and makes me excited how huge the much bigger casino will be.

The north section has split into two towers now.

Although this building - on the curvey side - uses the same design / style as Wave in Surrey,
it doesn't seem t come across as cleanly as Wave does.

Maybe because Wave has deep balconies.

I like it better than Wave. Wave didn't look so hot in person.

Wow, awesome update.

I'm curious about the lines delineating the indoor - outdoor transition on the floorplates (look at the first couple of residential floors with no glass). Are developers finally installing thermal barriers, or are those there for painting?

I was in Surrey on Thursday on a photo hunt and checked out Wave as well. I have to agree with you that I found it a bit underwhelming in real life. Maybe the second tower will improve it, but I have to agree with you that One Pacific looks much more interesting right now.

And yes, mcminsen's updates are so great that they leave nothing for rest of us to update (which is good since I have hundreds of photos to process in any case).

So far I like this building. However the units in the middle of the "U" shape are really close together. You'll be able to look over and see what your neighbour is having for dinner.

OMG and all of this in a major city?!?!? What will people do with other people living next to them?
