The basement of the Sears space (38,000 sq ft) has checkouts on the plan.

That could either be a grocery store or a London Drugs.

Doesn't make sense, there are going to 11 towers on this site eventually, and not an anchor grocery store? This is a regional destination!! People from all over arriving by skytrain may want to pick up some grocery when they leave ...... instead of having to trot across the street to buy grocery ? Where is the convenience?
Do you think future towers will sell as well without an onsite grocery store? After spending thousands on hi-end luxury goods, eating at home is not such a bad idea

Eataly could go in. It's close to the Italian area of the Lower Mainland.

There will eventually be one, it just kinda sucks that it's got to wait until phase 3. I believe officedweller is correct, the current Sears site basement will be the future site of the grocery store

If London Drugs isn't reopening in the mall another grocery possibility is HY Louie's Fresh St Market...

Well, there is Whole Foods just kitty corner to the mall, and Save on Foods is like a 5-minute walk away next block west. I'm sure the Carter lot will have something that comes with one or two markets built in the future. Would be nice to have an underground connection with shops. Having a grocery store in Brentwood mall makes a lot of sense considering the number of people living there, but then again, this isn't exactly a very big mall.

BTW, trotting across the street to get grocery is as convenient as it gets by North American standards.

Is the old mall going to be totally rebuilt ? Or it will stay as it is and attach to the new mall ? Just checking the Oakridge by Westbank, the developer will totally rebuild it so it matches with the new structures.

See plans on previous page.
"unexcavated under existng mall" means that part of the mall will stay in place.

Would be best if they also have a grocery within the same site/development. I tend to buy in Whole Foods (vs Save On) as it's a nearer walk from the Skytrain.

Brentwood retail/food is looking rather upscale now with the brands they've presented in the current brochure. I think they're already signed as they're named there.
So now it seems as if the likes of Uniqlo are not likely to open in Brentwood since those are covered by Metrotown already. Pffft..

Once the Concord Brentwood building inhabitants move in too we need that extra grocery! hehe!

Three sections have been removed on Saturday. Crane now level with Penthouse. Expect more sections to come off on Monday.
