As someone who watched the project for years and years the beginning of all the work has been surprisingly uneventful. This project is really going to transform the network so of course I am super excited, just surprised there isn't more talk!

The only work so far has been demolition, which in general isn't super interesting I think. Once excavation and construction begins, the fun begins!

Main/Broadway is a mess right now with the sewer relocation. I hope it's not that way all summer.

What the hey? For what distance and for how long? I hope my favourite local ramen place survives. They've worked hard to survive covid and the staff are wonderful and personable.

Stores will remain open which has been the message all along. From the render it looks like sidewalks will remain as they are.

The station box will be between Arbutus and Maple, I’ll assume there will be a crossover switch (or perhaps a pocket track) before the station which needs to be excavated East of Maple so the bored tunnel will end at Cypress.

Fair enough. Can we assume that there'll be extra room past Arbutus so we don't have to shut the station down for the UBC phase?

The documents show some track past the station to the West.

Yes, there will be extra room westbound of Arbutus station for the future extension to UBC, No need to take the station out of service during construction.
