We will get a supertall, but instead of office it will be mixed use like those proposed with some commercial/retail and residential mixed in.

We have 3 supertall on the go right now, one of which (I'm not sure) will have movement soon either sales/or major site prep.

I guess the CN Tower doesn't count... and FCP missed being a supertall by 2 lousy metres... to some people that means there is nothing tall in the skyline?

What's absurd is that you think skyline or supertalls matter to those in charge of forming the built form in the city or that a supertall will elevate the skyline aesthetics . Toronto has a well known supertall monument that can be seen from most angles that makes the skyline distinct and easily identifiable.

Great , an oversized space needle rip off

Where is the gradual ascent among buildings in the skyline? Like a stair case. Chicago and New York have it

Spandrel glass just looks so much better in curtainwall. Those vents are really unfortunate. I hope they still need a cover and the cover looks good.

Did you mean to say "then" not "in"? And if so was that a sarcastic comment?

I actually applaud Tridel for going with curtain-wall on what could be considered the ass end of the building. It looks like the corner is getting the same treatment. Both north and south sides are getting spandrel but they are also installing prominent vertical elements that should unify the floors.

?

The columns are all hidden behind full sized spandrel (opaque) glass panels.

If it wasn't for the vents it would look pretty good IMO. Much better than expected. Hopefully they cover them up somehow.

It's so Tridel though to maintain the status quo instead of coming up with a better solution for the vents in the curtain wall.

Yeah. Harbour Plaza are the nicest condos along Toronto's waterfront. Way better than Ice in my opinion.

Your word choices are clearly much better "then" his. He's lucky to have you around to correct him.

I think I'm actually liking Harbour Plaza more than One Bloor, except for the base.

While I also think Harbour Plaza looks good, I still think Ice looks better. Once construction is finished I'll re-evaluate.

I agree. I really like these towers and I've never seen the love of Ice. I've always thought they look rather generic.
