A loop is more than necessary. Traffic is heavy all day with downtown commuters, University commuters and High School commuters (Campbell and LeBoldus students) all using Wascana PKWY to turn left onto Ring Road North.

Not only is traffic backed up for literally km's from 3:15 to 5:30, but many of the drivers are inexperienced. There are so many accidents on this road that SGI should seriously consider co-sponsoring the loop as it would greatly cut down on their insurance costs.

From the feedback to my question on here, seems like there is justification for this. Hope you get it sometime soon.

A construction crane going up next to the Saskatchewan Legislative Building marks the beginning of a $15-million overhaul.

The provincial government says extensive work is needed to repair the dome’s deteriorated stones, copper roofing and facade.

Visitors to the Legislative Building in Regina have noticed water dripping inside during the winter.

Along with the crane, there will be scaffolding set up to let crews work safely on the surface of the dome.
Work on the dome is expected to be completed by December 2015.

Thanks for posting - I was just about to ask what the heck they needed a tower crane at the Leg for. Repair the copper roof? Wasn't the whole roof redone in the.....90's sometime? Cheapo asphault shingles last longer than that. I suppose if the foundations of the roof aren't sound then the whole roof, copper or not, is compromised.

Since i've lived in Westhill there has been no work done on Courtney, south of Sherwood. That, combined with the fact that there is no indication on the City's updated Transportation Plan that Courtney will extend south (at all) beyond Sherwood, to me means it won't be happening.

Judging by the Transportation plan (and considering you can get in/out of Fairways West via 1st Ave now), the City's focus is going to be on rebuilding Pinkie Road. To me that makes most sense.

Even extending Courtney to 1st Ave (only) seems like a huge price tag to pay for added convenience (as opposed to accessing 1st Ave/Fairways West from Doiron Road to the west or Dorothy Street to the east.

I do agree that Pinky needs to be upgraded (paved from Sherwood to Dewdney. In a massive way! However, once the west bypass is constructed to 9th north I would see more people using it instead.

RPC will deal with the Retallack and 13th mixed-use development at Wednesday's meeting. The Administration is recommending approval. This is quite an urban style development for Regina. It is nice to see developers stepping out a bit.

It will be fantastic for the area. Hopefully more local developers will follow and create more developments like this.

Was Shoppers Drug Mart South Expanded? Also, any updates on the hotel replacing the Sherwood Motel on South Albert? What about the hotel next to the Pasqua or updated photos on the new hotel on Albert and Dewdney? Would love some photo updates if anyone can

SDM south hasn't been expanded yet and the hotel on the old Sherwood site is under construction.

I know this won't likely be a popular point of view on a construction forum, but the NDP does have a point. It's not like there are tons of private companies investing in the global transportation hub. There has been a handful but we are talking about less than 10. And most of the recent announcements have been government related. Maybe there is more private investment on the way that I am not aware of but it seems to be slow in coming.

Maybe it is a build it and they will come mentality? These large companies need safe reliable transportation network to be successful, and at current it isn't the greatest. I have a feeling that once it gets done then we will see many more companies come in. After all. Canadian Pacific Railway wouldn't of relocated there if they didn't feel it economically viable for a long period of time.

These things take a while to get going we are only on year 5-6? Once the 4-lane to dewdney gets finished I think there will be more development announced.

Yes, the Albert South SDM did expand into the space next door that was formerly the home of Eyes on Albert optical shop. They just held their grand opening a couple of weeks ago. They have expanded their beauty area as well as the food area.

That's awesome! Another thought is what happened to that historic fountain that was going to be refurbished? I wish there would be more water features downtown. As well as more permanent floral gardens downtown integrated into the new square.

Shoppers South Albert did expand/renovate. It remained open during renos. They relocated the Post Office into the former optometist space next door. This also enabled a direct entrance into the Post Office.

The cosmetics & photo/electonics space both got a bit more space & a facelift out of the deal. The grocery section is slightly expanded with a bit more frozen food selection.
