Does anyone who is going in the old Danier Leather location on Trinity? And do we have a timeline on when the New Sports Chek opens?

The article states the store opening is still September. I just can't imagine this. November maybe, but even that would be a stretch.

I had a look this morning. Still lots to do there for sure, with giant holes cut in the walls. But they had all kinds of lights set up outside - not sure if they plan on going at it 24/7 or what but it does suggest they plan on putting in some overtime this summer.

Goji's Dieppe

It Appears that Goji's is moving across the street in Dieppe. There are signs coming soon in the windows of the same building as the wrap store.

Can't really see it being a second location, directly across the street. Although they do have a sobeys across the street, and 2 Irvings / McDonalds within a mile of each other.

Yes Goji is moving across the street as all the tenants of the building where they are now have been given their notices for December 31. Apparently that building is being torn down. It belongs to Sears so maybe they are selling off that piece of land.

Interesting.

If all the tenants have been given their notice, this could be good news for Champlain Plaza phase 2, which is just across the street and has multiple vacancies........

That used to be the old Sears Automotive building. I wonder if they have a buyer for that property and if there are any firm plans. The existing building was fully leased. I can't imagine them tearing it down unless something was up........

Before this I believe that it was the location of Moncton Chrysler?

I never recall seeing a car dealership before Sears Auto. What you may be referring too is, the Comic store across from Boar Park & RCMP detachment.

That used to be Chrysler/Plymouth dealership.

Moncton Chrysler used to be on the NW corner of Champlain/Paul (where the strip mall housing KFC/Taco Bell is now). They moved to Mountain Road a couple of years after I moved to Moncton in 1989.

As such, they were located next to (just to the east of) the Sears Automotive building.

And now Moncton Chrysler is on the move again, next to the Hampton Inn just north of the TCH near Mapleton. They've apparently outgrown their current location.

My grandfather worked for Chrysler Canada and I remember him saying it was somewhere around there. It must have been can-am that was located across from rcmp?

Another question, I have an old map mom Moncton and it lists Shoppers Drug Mart as a tenant in the only Moncton Mall (Northwest Centre) does anyone else know the history of that mall and what it's anchor tenants were?

And the same question for Champlain Place. Like what stores were where and when we're the additions or major renos. I find retail history interesting because it changes so often.

Moncton Mall Used to have "the Met", "Zellers", "Sobeys", "Shoppers Drug Mart" and "Bi-Way" as its major tenants, Some other notables were "A&W", "Subway", and "Radio Shack", to name a few, the other chains have since died out that I can remember.

as for Champlain Place, It used to have "Future Shop" actually at 2 different locations at 2 different times, prior to the expansion of the food court (current) and the section going towards sobeys, it used to end with "Dominion (Grocery Store)", and "Consumers Distributing" with anchors, "Wolco" now Walmart, Sears has always been there, Other stores to note include "Sony Store", "Radio Shack" and "Toys and Wheels" to name a few. I also remember the Small food court, that is roughly where second Cup is now. It had, "Taco Time", "Pizza Delight", A&W, "Manchu Wok" and I think a Fish and Chip place, but I can't remember what it was called.

Not sure if they were anchor stores in Moncton mall but Leisure World (I lived at that store as a kid) and The Little Rock Bar.

Little Rock was pretty much kept in business by the NBCC, I think. LOL.

At one point the Little Rock took up about one third of the former Moncton Mall.
And you still had a hard time to get in for Friday's lunch special. (Was it ribs? I can't remember now.)
