Really great work, Don. That would be nice to have on the front page of this thread which is woefully out of date and degrading as all of the image links break, but linking to another site is probably not in the best interest of skyscraperpage.

Small suggestion since you asked, it could possibly be nice to have the map icons color coded to project type, residential, commercial, etc, with a small monetary value estimate of the project, like $35m or $550k or something. That would let the user immediately be able to see the distribution and allow them to focus in on their interests without having to hover over every icon or utilize the project tracker, which then closes the map. If not color coding the icons, when using the project tracker it would be nice to have the map stay open and then only display the icons for the project type that the user selected. If that were the case then I would also want to be able to select multiple project types, ie, so I could see all residential projects at once, or the combination of retail and hotel for example. Maybe that's all too overwhelming though and keeping it simple facilitates exploration deeper into your site. I guess it depends on what your market is and what you hope to get out of your user.

Even if it stays exactly the same it's still an awesome resource. Good stuff.

Two e-scooter companies come to Boise, a third possibly on the way

BOISE — The e-scooter craze has come to the City of Trees.

Last week, e-scooter companies Lime and Bird rolled out dockless electric scooters to the streets of downtown Boise. Between the two California-based companies, there are now roughly 450 scooters available to ride within city limits.

It doesn’t end there. A third company, Spin, has plans for Boise. Spin applied for a business license to bring another 250 scooters to Boise, which the city will process over the next week or two, city spokesman Mike Journee said.

Yes! I feel the exact same way - and this is something I want to do but couldn't figure out for launch. Let me put a little more brain power to it.

One thing you *can* do that accomplishes this is use the drop-down under search to filter projects by type.

Hey guys, native Utahn here. Grew up in St. George and now live in the Provo area. I'll be coming to Boise for Thanksgiving. It'll be my first time to your neck of the woods. My sister lives in Eagle, has a mini-farm there. She's a nurse practitioner as well.

Anyway, I think it'll be great to get to know your city and I'm wondering if Thanksgiving time is generally warm enough that I should bring my golf clubs? If so, where should I look to hit 9?

we've had thankgivings in the 70s and sunny, and thanksgivings in the 20s and snow, so it's kind of a crap shoot of what the weather will be like. generally it's in the 50s, and if so, the courses should be open.

looking at the 10-day forecast, it'll be a bit cooler than that, with a projected high of 48 on turkey day and partly sunny.

if the weather ends up being decent, I'd suggest these courses close to Eagle for a quick 9:

- Eagle Hills, right in the middle of Eagle. it's an 18 hole course, but the front nine is fun.
- Banbury, just south of Eagle across from the Boise river. also an 18 hole course, it's a bit more challenging..
- Shadow Valley, north of Eagle. the front 9 and back 9 are very different from each other, but the whole course does have a lot of fun elevation changes.
- Quail Hollow, in the foothills north of 36th street in Boise. I prefer the back 9 to the front 9, but I'm not sure you can choose which you can play.

if you're willing to drive further, Falcon Crest is just south of Boise on the edge of the desert. it features a full 18-hole course, a separate 9-hole course, and a 9-hole executive course, and is always in excellent shape.

You're welcome. SSP has become quiet (except for threads in which people argue and bicker) but there are a lot of eyeballs for sure. The city photo forum is dying and rarely gets the amount of comments it used to for anyone who posts threads. Facebook and Insta generate more comments and remarks and thumbs.

In addition to Boisebro's great suggestions I would also recommend Warm Springs Golf Course along the river on the east side of town. It's super scenic and you get to drive through downtown and the beautiful Warm Springs Historic Hood to get there.

there have been a lot of downtown proposals recently, but they've all been eerily quiet of late. I've been keeping an eye out for these 5 proposals, specifically, but haven't found anything in recent weeks:

1 - the cartee project
2 - Home2Suites hotel (I thought they were schedule to break ground by now)
3 - 11th and Idaho office building
4 - 6th and Front condos/office
5 - the unnamed condo on myrtle between 3rd and 2nd

and, of course, the library is on the list, but that seemed to be further out.

Yeah it is kind of sad that Facebook is beginning to kill off forum boards. Personally I prefer coming to forums but to each their own.

A 100 percent renewably powered Boise? Might not be as far off as you think.

BOISE — Mayor Dave Bieter set the goal of powering all city buildings from renewable sources by 2030, but Boise might not stop there.


Boise’s Public Works Department is considering a plan, tentatively called Boise’s Energy Future, that would set a goal of having the entire city powered by renewable energy. The city is still exploring the option, but the target date for this broader goal could be as soon as 2040.


Public Works Director Steve Burgos said he hopes the city goal will help lay the groundwork for a communitywide energy transformation.

Some cool news buried in the today's City Council Agenda packet, the Discovery Center is planning an expansion!! It will be an 18,000 sqft first floor with and 6,000 sqft on a second level. The plan also includes an outdoor plaza facing the pond. In exchange for the using Julia Davis park space, they are proposing to buy one of the parcels to the west and donating it to the City as replacement space.
