You, me and everyone else. Truly though, I'd take the 1,550 original in a heartbeat. 1,750 would have been heart-stopping.

If you think I'm going to count floors built yet, you're hurt.
But 58 floors for a 1300-ft roof? Uh, ceilings must be generous on every floor in there, right?
That's almost an average of 7m a floor. Lol.

There's a huge crown, the occupied height is about 350 meters (or 1150). Which is still HUGE for only 58 floors.

They'll be fake numbered into the 70s though. The highest occupied floor is the 73rd according to the website. It kind of makes sense to grasp the buildings true scale.

the average ceiling's will range between 15 to 20 feet. 15feet will go to the average office floor and 20 feet will be more likely for mechanical floors, the observation deck and the amenities floors like the one with the baseball court.
that is one of the reasons why the building has a low floor count.

the second reason is the crown. im not sure if the observation deck will be the top occupied floor or there will be one right above this one but whatever the outcome is the top occupied floor wont be higher than 1070 feet, the rest of the height is given by a lattice crown that will contain mechanical stuff, including the BMU and the A/C boxes. and still the height of the crown will top at 1301. what really gets the building to the 1401 mark is the 100' spire.

originally the building was to be 1514 and 65 floors, the top floor would have been way above 3WTC but it suffered a height reduction and that is why the building looks so bulky in renders

It has the grace of a tower you want to top a skyline, particularly this one. That's where that extra height would come in. Let it taper to a finer point.

^That's likely not the finshed floor height though. Raised floors for data/electrical raceways and dropped ceilings for mechanicals and lighting likely squeeze that by at least 3 feet leaving it closer to 15 feet. The rough slab to slab measurement is missleading.

The observation deck was somewhere around 1,020 ft at the lowest level, so you're not really talking about the office floors at that greater height. The office floors themselves are of various heights, with some generous floor heights higher up. The higher floors are for the tenants paying higher rents basically. There was a clip somewhere that talked about the design process, and how they arrived at the design we have now.

For a client, the tower is designed to offer incredibly diverse leasing opportunities. The tapered form allows a range of floor plates, from massive 40,000-square-foot high-density floors at the base to 20,000-square-foot boutique floors at the top. All of the floors are column free with floor-to-ceiling windows.

Another distinguishing feature of the tower is the additional range of floor-to-floor heights. There are four typical heights ranging from 14.5 feet to 18 feet, and a handful of floors soar up to 20 feet. These heights, particularly with floor-to-ceiling glass, open the spaces to the city and bring natural light deep into the center of the building.

It's massive!

How many more floors before they start on the crown?

They are at the top floor below the crown.

Yep, the lowest of the setbacks. This will be the most defining feature of this tower, and the one people will notice on the skyline. Looking forward to watching it take shape.
