If BRT terminated at Magna Main, there could be some great new development, mixed with the existing historic buildings, creating a great TOD neighborhood on the facing and surrounding blocks. It could look a lot like Historic 25th St in Ogden, on a bit smaller scale.
I think a great first step would be for someone to establish a resident theater company, something local and non-profit to perform on a regular basis at the Empress Theater. Create a little bit of a buzz out there that could attract some additional bodies to the area.

Done and done.
MAX (BRT) runs every 15 minutes and terminates at Magna Main St. already... actually at 2750 S 9150 West (it turns off Magna Main at the western end and goes half a block south before it actually terminates and then loops back around to 3500 South at 8400 west and goes back to the 3300 S TRAX station. In fact, Magna Main has 3 buses that regularly service it. There is an express bus that leaves from Temple Square area downtown, goes on the freeway directly to Magna Main and then goes up 9150 W to 3100 S, to 8400 West up to 3500 and terminates at 35th and 7200 West. And finally, the #35 bus goes from the 33rd So TRAX station every 30 minutes to Magna Main and back again.
There is a resident theatre company in the Empress Theatre.
www.empresstheatre.com They just finished a production of "Oklahoma" 2 days ago and their next one is "The Sound of Music" starting June 10th, followed by "Willie Wonka," "The Music Man," "Forever Plaid," and "Scrooge, The Musical."
