I find the easiest map to use is the rail atlas.

I don't recall this much snow in a 12 hours stretch ever in Toronto during my lifetime. It is what it is. This likely would have cause flooding in covered systems if it was rain. Stay home for the few hours!

Alstom (Bombardier) and Siemens have responded to Quebec City's call for tenders concerning the design, fabrication and maintenance of the rolling stock. The city will choose the winner this summer. Call for tenders for the infrastructure part of the project closes on february 22nd. (Haven't found an article in english)

Quote:

In Waterloo during my 90 minute walk this morning, several LRTs passed by no problem, before the ROW had been plowed:

Why did Toronto have a problem?

Knowing the accumulation rate is probably the first thing to look up. Than I probably look up the effect of mixed traffic, disrepair relating to rails clogging up and perhaps stopping power and acceleration in relation to station distances; signalled intersections It's an apples to oranges comparison.

Ottawa had no problems with O-Train Line 1 despite 47 cm of snow. Ran like a dream. Feels good after a couple derailments last fall.

Word out of Montreal today is that the REM2 project in the east end of the island could be in jeopardy.

The public agency that oversees transit in the metro area has many issues with the project, and if they're not on board then the Caisse de dépôt which is bankrolling the whole thing threatens to pull out.

Meanwhile the CAQ government is saying damn the torpedoes full speed ahead.

Stay tuned.

Great graphic Larch!

And Valley Line looking good. Why did they blur out the tops of the trains though?
