Really surprising though that only 1% of all of this activity is in Arapaho Square? That's kind of pathetic, considering all of the surface parking lots there just begging for improvements.

I don't have a subscription to the DBJ anymore, but this looks to be an interesting development (pun intended?) in the whole Gates Redevelopment Plan. Good to see this potentially moving forward again, seems like forever ago when Cherokee attempted redevelopment.

I mean, Gates has to redevelop at some point, but it's been "Denver's next hot redevelopment site" since the 1990s, at least.

I have high hopes for it. That area has everything it needs to be Denver's best TOD. But I'll believe it when I see it.

I thought the same thing when I read this article earlier today. That's got to freak out the secret service when they envision the potential havoc that could easily occur if someone wanted to strap some TNT to a toy helicopter and dive bomb it into the grounds of the White House. How would you defend against something like that?

It's just like the advent of the airplane, but on a far, far, far more pervasive scale. First someone flies it and the almost certain next step is that someone arms the damn thing. You've already got man-portable UAV's that have a .5 lb warhead strapped on it that will ruin your day in the Army and Marines inventory; it's only a matter of time before some yahoo replicates this.
