Maybe it's different during the pandemic, but my walking loop crosses near here and Naito is usually pretty dead. Nice easy crossing at 9th if it is busy, although that could be out of the way. It would be nice if Better Naito continues its work northward as downtown is finished.

Perhaps. I just feel like all the urban energy, close in buildings, the park and storefronts, it all just dies because of the fence, double tracks and large street to cross in order to get to the other side. The initially proposed ped/bike bridge would have nicely tied The Fields park into Centennial Mills and the upcoming neighborhood abutting the Willamette.
