In Vancouver most people who live in condos do so because they have no choice due to the astronomical housing prices and where even a tiny shack on the ugly, crime ridden eastside in a "Vancouver Special" is way beyond the means of most in the city. affordability is definitely one reason but lifestyle is another. condo living (especially downtown) brings a certain quality of life that you can't find in a typical house. it's also the way Vancouver has been able to attract nearly 30,000 new residents to it's downtown/west end in 10 years. for a relatively small city, that's pretty impressive.

You definitely get that feeling while on Prince's Island. Nice green space with lots of people enjoying and relaxing, with big shiny office towers in the background.

First off Southcore was just weeds and parking lots 6 years ago with the exception of the ACC. Of all the buildings under construction there are only a few actually complete and occupied including the Maple Leaf Square Complex, Telus and Infinity Condos. So the majority of the towers you see in the skyline photos of Toronto, are still unoccupied, including Bremner Tower, Southcore Delta Hotel, ICE Condos, and Infinity Condos - Final Phase. I'm pretty sure if you make a trip back to Southcore next year it will be a far more lively place with the inclusion of residents, tourist and office workers in the said 7 massive tower complexes.

WOW! Love that rarely seen angle! Victoire will fill the gap to the left of Tour de la Bourse, TDC will sit next to IBM-Marathon (prefer that name) and Icone will be doing ome filling as well. Now, let's build something on Place de la Cité Internationale to fill that gap and I'll be a happy man!

Since it will be shorter and further away than the InterContinental, I suspect it won't fill much in that shot

The TOM will also make a clear apperance in front of PVM. Le Peterson will rise next to the Hilton along with the c-lofts. I think we will even see the roccabella poke out in between IBM and cibc. I'm not sure about le victoire, but there's a small chanxe we might see it pop out behind the intercontinental. And then there's the CHUM which will continue its march towards rene-levesque boul. All in all great angle.
