Love it too, especially how they can hide the balconies and prevent them from jutting out. Also love the dark window frames. Reminds me of some Melbourne CBD condos.
Most importantly, it is replacing the very low density walkups.

The Landlord doesn't usually cover those costs.

I like it, but with some reservations. The protruding box thing has to go, though. It's tired and overdone in Metro Vancouver. Typical of post modernism where a box is deemed art by architects trying to cash in the "new craze", as opposed to just creating a clean and uniform facade.

There are few towers like that in Toronto - but they use colour to accentuate the box.

E-Condos in Toronto:

At least that cheesy condo name hasn't made it here...

5977 Wilson looks nice and something different. I also love the darker color palette and this will be going to a currently low-rise area of Metrotown, where a lot more will be coming.

There is quite a nice architectural variance being added in Metrotown with this, Gold House, Station Square 5 and the new tower at Telford/Beresford.

It's very much a Toronto design.

I also like the darker palette. Although the protruding box is played out I think it doesn't detract from the overall design.

City's coming out with their Metro Town and rental / replacement policy with the new council in the coming few months (before Spring).

They're also looking at key players in the area's tenant reloaction plans and replacement policies / strategies into a more robust City policy going forward. Updates to come after meeting with the Mayor.

It's funny to see them using Metrotown and Metropolis mall (or I guess, Metrotown's proximity) to advertise a Brentwood project given that Brentwood has its own mall (granted, still a ways away from being completed with the upgrades in the Amazing Brentwood project) that's closer to this tower.

But I guess the intended target market and buyers (if they're not in Canada) probably wouldn't be too aware of the relative proximity (or lack thereof) of anything being advertised in the video.

That's even worse.

At least with Metrotown they could make the argument that they were trying to sell the project's proximity to both Metrotown and and Brentwood center.

Canada line has absolutely no geographical connection whatsoever to the area.

I'll assume they didn't have any stock footage of the millennium line or Brentwood skytrain station...
.....
....
...or they were too lazy to find any and just didn't care because they knew whoever would be watching the video wouldn't know the difference.

I don't think so. There's not much info about them. The last Burnaby Major Updates was late Nov so the info I pulled was from there and a bit of scouring their meetings (that don't like to be directly linked to). All of the buildings are about mid-way between Beresford and Maywood St.
