let me tell you this much guys

fortress has about 15 projects on the works right now and all have moved forward... most lawsuits have nothing to do with project not proceeding

furthermore there are over 200 people who have invested in the condos there is no way that the company backs out that fast.. they are working closely with government and other developers to just pull a quick one on them... the amound of misinformation and negativety surrounding this project is beyond me.. We all knew a project of this size would take long time to materialize and wouldnt be without problems or delays... there are over 398 units in this building nothing of this scale has been built before give it a chance be patient and see what happens.. if you don't think its going to happen that's your opinion but is based soley on a few lawsuits the bottom line is every project they have been involved in has moved forward and has been built

go to their website and look at their porttofilio u ppl do your research every PROJECT THEY HAVE BEEN INVOVED IN HAS BEEN BUILT or IS BEING BUILT

LilWayne. I think you should stop posting here and stop thinking about Sky City because you have no idea what you are talking about. Fortress are crooked people. 4 of them are criminals who have done illegal activity. Fortress track record speaks for itself. The projects they do do not get built or are left for some other company to take over.

Again. Maybe you have zero knowledge of how shady they are and many people have had enough and are going to go after them now. What I know is enough to tell me that I should hope this project is scrapped unless an entire new company takes over and if that happens Sky City will not exist but a entire new project. I would be fine with that but I do not want Sky City to move forward and from what I can tell from my sources that any further project moving forward will have similar issues if they do not get caught up with fair obstacles put on them from intelligent people like we have in Winnipeg.

The last thing. I told you this was the monorail deal months ago and I was right.

I do not have any investment in this property but I hope people over at Fortress suffer. You wish the worst on those people. Not talking about the people selling retail (unless they are in on it) but the upper folks who are screwing people over and over.

Enough is enough. Just wait for the newscast to come out on these guys. Just sickening. The rumor that he lost his financial license is nowhere near what kind of people they are.

Investor claims

Just seems like a pretty news worthy scandal the media would pick up if this was documented, no? Even if people buy with the intent to rent out, that would still be a buyer regardless who actually occupies the space. Or am I missing something?
I did not get a response clarifying the condo count he alleged. So while I don't mean offense, I would like to hear responses on that matter before I lend any credibility to furthers claims.

NorthStarsProject claim would mean I'm the skycity queen bee knowing 11 of the 57 investors.

Well, that's at least as credible as most of the other posts in this thread.

A condo project can fall apart, even in Toronto with a great location right on the subway line. It seems a crime it happened.

The difference is there will be a dozen others ready to replace that project in a snap.

It's not like there aren't other projects taking place in Winnipeg right now. Seriously, when is the last time that we've had so much being built downtown?

My post was in reply to a failed Toronto project.

In terms of the entire downtown, we will have to wait and see what new incentives are going to become available, lest we see a dramatic stop in developments.

I know, but the implication was that this is the only thing Winnipeg has, where it Toronto, it wouldn't matter. It would be great if Skycity happened. If it doesn't, well, it isn't the only game in town.

It will be OK. All they have to do is triple the parking fees and the land will be paid for in no time, 30 years. Maybe the police can rent all the spots. They are loaded.

But they are still locked and loaded.

What about an indoor parking garage with one level of retail on top and really solid pads so they can build a skyscraper on top in another 20 years.
