God she looks so good. That facade is gonna POP! I just wish this tower was in the center of the skyline as our tallest. Oh well, guess post office site will just need to be taller

I'm banking on 3rd and Congress to be honest. That location is smack in the middle of the waterfront skyline and more centrally located. Having said that, I would also expect to see something significant at the post office site as well.... Whenever that will be..

Don't sleep on the Hobby block. They will likely need to go pretty tall in order to subsidize the affordable housing the city and state want there.

Speaking of the Hobby block (and at the risk of getting off topic). Proposals were due in November. I'm guessing we might get a taste of what could be built there soon?

I completely spaced out on Hobby and I agree. Hopefully it will be 2,000 feet lol to beat OKC

In order to accomodate the affordable housing wants: what we'll see will either be tall as you say, or quite possibly, there will be multiple towers. From what I've gathered there were at least three proposals submitted and a decision will be made at some point this year.

The year is 2053...user CheugyCap22 ponders the question in the Austin Updates thread..."so when's that post office site gonna be built up? Surely we'll see a proposal any day now..."

I really dig the facade IRL, much better than the renderings... especially the hint of burnt orange.

and then there are angles/lighting where this looks like it should be in West Campus... this building makes me both thrilled and nervous in equal measure.

Do y'all think they did the orange because of UT? Seriously asking.

Honestly at least to my perspective, it is not really UT color burnt orange and in fact the other night I was walking by on Red River, looks more like a brass with a shimmer in the light. That is specifically the portion facing Red River. It's orangish but I think it's a bit different than UT's color.

Agreed -- Compared to the orange on Mopacs great photos from earlier, I'd say the real life color is slightly darker, but still similar.
