Haha I guess so.. :/ But like its Frustrating because like when he say's things like Calgary is only 1.4 Million American's will say stuff like
"Thats it?" Calgary is like as big as Raleigh, or Memphis or Jacksonville.
(Which is untrue). Now suddenly if u say its 1.6 Million they will be comparing it to US Cities/ Metro's like Austin or Indianapolis, (& even occasionally Columbus/ Cleveland). This is a HUGE difference.
& it certainly feels busier than like all of those Cities. (Its not only about looking "Bigger" as well).
The same can be said for Toronto.
People that say Toronto is only 6 Million Piss me off.
Why? Because then American's will also say Houston, Dallas, Chicago are way, way, bigger/ busier when that's untrue. Toronto feels about as Big/ Busy as Chicago. It isn't on the same level as Cities like Atlanta, Miami, or Philly. (It's vastly ahead of those).
It doesn't only look bigger than all of them, it is! & it "feels" considerably bigger/ busier than all of them too!

You see where the frustration comes from? Infact I would say Confidently that by now/ today's date Canada's Golden Horseshoe is at least a good 40-50k Larger by now than the Chicago Metro Area. (Which should be just shy of 9.6 Million People). According to my Calculations the way Ontario is growing the Population is already well over 14 Million & should be close to 14.1 Million towards the end of this year.
So ya Canadian Cities are not small. I believe only LA or NYC @ this Point will have larger Population's than Canada's "Golden Horseshoe." Chicago's Economy simply isn't as powerful or growing anywhere near as fast. (Just look @ the Statistics).
PS. The Calgary Region IS Our GTA, if Toronto gets to add Oshawa, Brock, Scugog, Whitby, & Burlington to its Metro but where somehow not allowed to add Okotoks/ the Foothills then how is that not fair as a reflection for our population? After all even if u add these area's Canadian Cities/ CMA's still tend to be FAR more densely populated/ packed than comparable US MSA's anyhow.
