Montreal still needs to continue to add more bulk. I can live with the table-top height situation, so long as we keep adding fillers here and there and plug all the holes in the downtown.

However, I don't think it will ever catch up with Calgary and TO in the height department. No pressure from developers and the forever presence of the height limit.

Having an expansive dense downtown is a decent trade off. That said, Montreal will likely end up 5th (or lower) in the height department. Edmonton and even Vancouver will end up going substantially taller than Montreal. After that, Hamilton and Winnipeg will surely start building 200-250m in the next 10-15 years.

Montreal, as much as I love the city, still looks like it's stuck in the early 90's from a skyline perspective. Some positive changes recently but nonetheless frozen in time.

I tend the agree. The new additions have added a little bulk but haven't done much to really change the skyline. I still rank it a distant 4th in Canada.

Chadillaccc is the biggest Troll ever, not only did he deliberately share an Old Calgary Photo but it doesn't even have Brookfield Place up. (Let alone even before the 2nd Tower of Eight Avenue Place went up). He likely shared a Pre-2013 Calgary Skyline Photo which is annoying as much as it is disappointing on his part for not finding something newer.
He should get blocked from sharing whenever he does that.

With all the new and future developments happening in the western section of downtown, the Montreal skyline is starting to look increasingly out of balance.

The centre cluster (Le 1000, Central Station, PVM) is starting to look pretty lonely, even though that's the heart of the CBD. Meanwhile the eastern portion of the skyline (east of Bleury street), though is improving a bit, is largely continuing to lag behind.

Point in case. Here you can see clearly the three-clustered template of the downtown core: Bell centre cluster, PVM-Central Station cluster, Eastern cluster (Desjardins).

You're right on all counts. Outside of SSP and people who have shares in high-rise window washing companies, no one really cares about skyline heights.
