That office tower is one of the beefiest in the country. Too bad they couldn't stretch it upwards a bit more.

Interesting colour treatment to the photo. Montreal is looking nice and chunky these days.

North Vancouver's skyline

Agreed. The west and east facades are too fat.

It's almost approaching the girth of the north side of the Bow.

I think the only individual standout from this angle is CIBC Square.
I think the original big 5 bank towers are still standouts, granted you can really only see BMO & TD in that shot.

The new tower looks like a runway model compared to PVM in the background LOL

doesn't seem particularly girthier than the typical office tower.

Indeed. Just as Vancouver is punching peaks above it’s table-top.

steveve

NOTE: a number of towers over 200 metres (up to 299 metres) that are coded in pink as 'Proposed" are actually in progress (site demolition and/or site prep).
Hell yeah - lets do this!
All except that Foster building with the stepped roofline. That thing is just an extra wide slab that obliterates everything behind it. Talk about being too girthy and needing to go on a diet.

Edit: I have no idea how that red thumbs down got there and I have no idea how to remove it.

So Glad Vancouver has done that, but to be fair the topology of Vancouver never really made it look too table toppy. Remember when One Wall Centre became the new tallest? Now it looks so small.

That's actually not a Foster... it's BIG's Union Centre... but it is indeed a girthy beast (though exaggerated in the model which has no detailing).

Interesting roof/crown though (sorta like BIG's KING Toronto... only 300 metres up in the sky ;-).

Next week looks to be pretty brutal here, so you'll miss it, luckily.

Here's a recent wide angle shot.

I've seen a few like that of Vancouver and I recall at least one of Toronto. Vancouver it would be the easiest of the major Canadian centre because it's weather is the moodiest.
