The tower crane for phase 2 of the retirement building has now been removed. Mobile crane on site today setting up tower crane to the south of the phase 1 retirement building for the new apartment building. Looks like they will be moving ahead with the new buildings to the south of the retirement buildings.

A couple photos of the foundation for one of the new Eve Park buildings. Have to say, the buildings look more impressive on the website than the foundation gives you the impression of lol.

That was my thought as well, I sure hope they are built out like the website shows. This is a very unique concept that needs to be done properly

Forming the footings for the new apartment building. Looks like Sifton has hired Hayman Construction for this building. D Grant has got the contract for the new park. EllisDon is the contractor for the Eve buildings.

Second tower crane is now up for the building on the east side of the block. Making progress with pouring the footings and even have some of the L2 posts poured now for the building on the west side. Ellis-Don is slowly making progress on pouring footings for the EVE condos further west. Now have the windows installed on the 2nd phase of the retirement home and have started installing exterior stonework on the ground floor. The Legacy park has been making progress with the walls now built for the central pavilion building and some of the walkways.

Ellis don has poured the ground floor concrete slab for the Eve condo building furthest east. These buildings don't appear to have a basement level. Making good progress forming and pouring L2 level walls and posts on the west side of the pit for the new Sifton buildings.

Development Charges dispute with developer of Eve condos.

https://lfpress.com/news/local-news/...ys-higher-fees

The issue of City Hall taking too long to process paperwork existed long before the Covid pandemic struck. Adding bureaucracy at every turn with committee after committee reviewing every application must change. When more time is spent in paperwork then the actual shovel in the ground and tenants living in the project then something is terribly broken.

Am I misreading something? It looks like the permits were ready in 2021 but the company didn't bother picking them up until this year. That doesn't sound like it is the cities fault, that sounds like the issue is with the developer.

Still working on the exterior of phase 2 of the retirement home. The legacy park nearly has all the concrete walkways and lighting fixtures completed. Landscaping and planting will likely wait now till the spring. Have made good progress forming the L2 level footings and walls and posts for the 2 new Sifton buildings. They have started installing the prefab 2nd floor panels in the first of the Eve Park condos. About 40% of the floor panels are now installed. These prefab floor panels include the floor joists and floor sheeting in a modular unit. Goes together like a jigsaw puzzle which should really speed up the assembly of these buildings. Will be interesting to see the uptake on sales given the price and the wood frame construction and the fact there is no basement level. These Eve Park condos are an interesting experiment in lifestyle and marketing. Will it work?

Really interested in this as well, I like the concept of them and really like the idea of the car share program. I am not sure how cost effective it all really is but the general concept is amazing.

Started installing some of the 2nd floor walls in the first Eve Park condo. Working on the 2nd building ground floor with alot of crushed stone and water barrier installation ahead of steel and the slab pour which is likely next week. Phase 2 of the retirement building has alot of exterior brick being installed on the north side. Prepping the L2 floor with grading and crushed stone ahead of installing water barrier and steel for the L2 concrete floor pour on the west side of the pit. Should see the first L2 floor slab section poured soon.

Concrete pump truck on site today for the ground floor slab pour on building 2 of the Eve Park condos. They have nearly finished the installation of the floor modules for the 2nd floor on building 1. 2nd floor wall modules are being installed now on the north side.
