The stadium itself is nice, though apparently not nice enough. The Crew's first two matches had announced attendances of 18,939 and 16,116 (out of a stated capacity of 20,371). Season tickets there are still very much available, btw

Not just near downtown, the area is officially part of downtown to hear Crew fans.
The digs are just (mostly) good natured buddying rivalry stuff. But it does provide a very interesting contrast between two stadiums built ~simultaneously.
There's a lot of debate about public funding of stadium projects and their ability to catalyze private development and tax revenues. But I think by any measure Austin hit things out of the park. The NBG area was undoubtedly already on a growth trajectory, but without question the stadium has accelerated it.
Not bad for a tract they were just using for storage. We didn't have to give up any parkland. And we're even getting rent for it.
