I was hoping for a cinema/s... But it's ok if there's none. Can't have it all. Hehe!

Also, I'm kinda expecting/waiting to see how worse the traffic/congestion gets in this area. It would be nice if they build a walkway/s above or underground (whichever is most feasible) at the major intersections Willingdon/Lougheed. No more stoplights for pedestrians (and increases walkability convenience), and perhaps more free flow for the buses/motorists going east/west and north/south (and they don't have to worry about pedestrians crossing as well).

I've also noticed the Brentwood Station platform appears to have more users waiting for the train (to downtown) during the morning rush hour than it used to.

The article did say that the top floor of that box is still reserved for a cinema, although no brand is confirmed just as yet. No matter, Brentwood mall will still become a new entertainment hub of the Lower Mainland, although the City and various new developments around the area will have a big influence on how the area will shape out to be like.

that's because the trains are so small now. I can never get a seat anymore from Lougheed.

a shopping mall being considered an "entertainment hub" just makes me sad for today's youth.

Shopping malls are evolving to become entertainment hubs around the world. Brentwood is going along with what shoppers are demanding, and with what worldwide trends in retail are.

Drove by and glass is going up. Looked dark, but I couldn't properly see. I think I saw a piece of boring teal spandrel at the bottom, but I think the balcony glass will hide most of it. Hopefully there will be some color unlike Solo District.

I'm still confused as to why Translink decided to make the trains smaller after just opening the Evergreen line and getting more riders on that route, and also considering the current and future level of development that that area is and will be undergoing (and the concomitant increase in density and population) in the next couple of years with Amazing Brentwood, Solo, Lougheed City, Concord Brentwood and further down the road, Gilmore.

They obviously will have to go back to 4 cars or more in the future if getting a seat (or a even standing spot) during rush hour is a challenge before any of the aforementioned developments are even complete.

The smaller trains are likely to maintain high frequency.
If the same number of cars are made into 4-car trains, the frequency would drop.

In theory, if there's an issue with M-Line capacity, they could pare back the Expo Line's 6-car MKI trains to 4-cars and add in some 4-car MKI trains to the M-Line.

Because the line was over-serviced before and they need money for more trains. I remember riding Millennium (pre-Evergreen) during rush hour and seeing empty seats. Meanwhile Expo is sardine city during rush hour - hell during mid-day it's getting pretty common to have trouble getting a seat.

First shot is from the Skytrain at the corner of Willingdon and Lougheed Highway. Then going counter clockwise around the entire site.

Tower 1 is really starting to loom up and make its presence known, even from inside the mall.

Wow! This project is moving rapidly, when will the Tower 1 be completed at the current rate?

from the highway 1, the tower 1 seems to have surpassed the older buildings to the west, like the one with the beige pyramid kinda roof

looking good, great updates with the pics
