^^ Glance again. The discussion was about Bayshore being #2 and why that is. Here's a few hints:
- Until recently one area had no mall. Nearest was Bayshore. Incomes are much higher than average in this area.
- The other area has a mall (St. Laurent). Ward selection is based on proximity to this for illustrative purposes. Incomes are lower than average in this area.
- Compare the "prominence" of both malls, in terms of retailer makeup.
Even Peter Simon, during recent interviews about the Rideau opening, mentioned that he wants to open a store in West Ottawa next, citing "there's a lot of wealth" there. No guarantee it would be at Bayshore, but that's my bet.
Since they were referenced, Somerset is below average, Kitchissippi and Capital are above, but not as high as the West.
