Old but not former. It’s still open and is our main psychiatric hospital Our main penitentiary/jail/prison is also that outdated.

You probably just got less over there so it didn’t have a chance to accumulate.

And that Aylmer neighborhood has to be in la Plateau, I think you’re confusing it with something else. It’s probably in Hull actually but close to the boundary (or in the easternmost parts of Aylmer… now that I think about it the latter is more likely).
Could be but a lot of the newer areas south of Ch. d'Aylmer (e.g. the old racetrack land) look like that too.

Sydney close to freezing, with a minimum of 0.0. Charlottetown and Halifax sitting around 2 degrees.

My personal station has officially frozen for the first time this year, currently sitting at -0.3 at just before 11pm.

I appreciate all the attention. I am doing good. Snow doesn't bother me too much. It's the cold temps that are a killer for me.

And thankfully we will never experience a low of -7C/-8C in October here.

4C and sunny today. The clear conditions caused us to dip below zero but that's fine. A sunny day is always be preferred under similar conditions even if it means colder night.

Low of -2C (wind chill of -5) this morning. First freeze of the season.

Our growing season ends at 204 days. The 2017 one was slightly longer and the top 2 are from 120+ years ago. So much for "global warming".

https://twitter.com/YUL_Weather/stat...046312/photo/1

The warmspot was Squamish, BC at 14.6C.

Warmest low was Solander Island, BC at 8.5C.

Both Charlottetown and Halifax fell to the freeze list this morning.

They both fell at the 0100 hourly observation.

The temperature at that time in both cities were -0.1C in Charlottetown and -0.2C in Halifax.

CHARLOTTETOWN WINS, but it could not have been any closer.

Congrats on "winning", Ch'town. The most pathetic freeze list to date. We're usually thumping chests in November as the last 5 or so cities try and squeeze out as much warmth as possible. But nah, this year we tap out 1 hour into November lmao.

Our Neighbours to the south are freezing too.

It's going to snow here in Halifax today, meanwhile Sable Island and it horses and seals are enjoying a decent 9 C. Maybe we could start a Sable Island freeze watch.

Congrats Charlottetown! Woot woot! I'm a tad surprised that they froze given that the water temp in the Northumberland Strait is still mid-teens. My local EC station on Bedford Basin bottomed out at 1.2 at 3 am; the Dockyard station 1.7 at 5 am; Windsor Park 0.8 at 3 am. It appears the city hasn't frozen yet. The forecast was for snow to start at 9 am. It's almost 10 but nothing yet. Temp at 9 am was 2.5.

Charlottetown tends to always be an early-ish addition to the freeze list. They tend to freeze around the same time as New Brunswick. The warm fall certainly helped them out this year.

I spent a year in Charlottetown and felt some of the most intense cold I've ever felt. Not Winnipeg levels of cold of course, but plenty of drives to and from work late day/early morning where temperatures were near -30.

Snow on the ground at my place for the second of three mornings this week. Melted off very quickly though.

Having trouble breaking the freezing mark today. Still at zero.

Pretty cold for this time of year, especially by the standards of the past decade or two.

I wonder if this is a sign of how our winter will be.

A few drone shots of our first snow yesterday, screenshot from an FB video.

ME HOOSE!

The other side of my neighbourhood (it's across Barter's Hill, a switchback road plowed through the houses, so it's very separate in lifestyle from my area today).

And moving into the nicer areas to the east.

Les Iles have not frozen yet.

You will find a lot of islands who have a delayed first freeze due to warm water temperatures at this time of the year.

Unfortunate those islands are not located in Europe because they would be subtropical at this latitude. Instead, they have non-existent summers.
You need to go to the 32th parallel (Bermuda) for the climate to become interesting.

2C and mainly cloudy. It did clear very late in the day about 30 min before sunset. Very cold. Seems like the Western cold has reached us (moderated a little of course).

Low of -1C (wind chill of -7). I saw flakes for a second day in a row. No accumulation other than very thin layer in grassy areas. Melted as soon the precipitation stopped.

The warmspot was White Rock, BC at 15.0C.

Warmest low was Cumshewa Island, BC at 9.6C.
