I was thinking imagine if a protester had signed up and was going to do it and when it was their turn they just flung the torach into the crowd or something?

The twitter module right underneath the map tells you who is carrying it..

The map location is not right...neither is the stream unless they actually made both "live" now.

'For the next hour I am pure Canadian': Matt Lauer

NBC's Today show host Matt Lauer carries the 2010 Olympic flame as it makes its way through Burnaby, B.C. Thursday. (CARMINE MARINELLI, 24 HOURS)

By MATT KIELTYKA, 24 HOURS

Three hundred metres was all it took for NBC superstar host Matt Lauer to turn red.

Not because he was tired, but from the dozens of Canadian flags that lined Canada Way as he ran with the Olympic torch Thursday.

"It didn't matter at all. I felt like saying 'go Canada go,'" Lauer said. "For the next hour I am pure Canadian."

The host will be a regular fixture during Vancouver's Games as The Today Show is broadcasting live each morning from Grouse Mountain.

But his run meant much more to Lauer than a simply publicity stunt.

"Especially seeing the children cheering, you hope that they're going to remember this for the rest of their lives, the moment the torch came through their town. And to be the person chosen to carry it, it's a huge thrill."

Lauer's run went right by the Burnaby Association for Community Inclusion and the home's residents all came out to take in the spectacle.

"Everyone has been excited for a few days," said community worker Bevin Hinton. "You want (the Olympics) to be successful because you want the city to make money to help these people."

The Olympic torch will make its final stop Friday at B.C. Place Stadium for the opening ceremony of the 2010 Winter Games in Vancouver.

I took pictures of Catriona Le May Doan at Cambie/17th outside the Stellas as we waited for the flame to come up Cambie and her to take over. She appeared out of nowhere and for a while nobody could believe they were standing next to a two-time Olympic gold medalist. She had a massive crowd around her and took pictures for about 15 minutes. For a speedskater she was pretty short!

Is there a list anywhere of who will carry/is carrying/did carry the torch? If I knew who was going to be at each location I'd get down there.

Saw the torch at Canada Way and Wayburne Drive. I got pics but they're terrible.

Also, someone in the crowd got hit by a police motorbike right after the torch passed.

Me too! I'd love to head down to Stanley Park before work tomorrow and catch a glimpse of Arnold.

When is sunrise ? Been ages since I've woken up early enough to see it.

Will it be light outside by 8:30? It'll be pitch black in Stanley Park at 6:30. Seems dangerous.

School...Art Institute of Vancouver, right across Canada Way from BCIT.

I was technically supposed to be in class, but I took off early.

I watched Rick Hansen with the torch in Richmond, Tuesday. And I just recently watched someone I couldn't identify, pass through my neighborhood of Kitsilano today. Apparently Sarah Mclachlan was the carrier before. Tomorrow will be nuts.
