Wasn't that also a commissary for their other cafe? Probably has more to do with that location struggling.

Chipotle is opening another location in Surrey, in Fleetwood where the Save-on-foods is near Fraser Hwy. It will be next to the new Maruhachi Ramen.

A rooftop bar on the 9th floor near Vancouver House talking about their 360 degree view. Too bad they are located next to one of the demolished Granville Loops

I drove past there on Wednesday and there were people eating on the patio and many staff walking around, either a soft opening or training I guess, looks very colourful outside now.

Also on Tuesday was out at Strawberry Hill and noticed the Jollibee has made no progress in about the two months that I was last out there, still no windows, appears to have had nothing done at all in two months. Maybe someone can confirm if it's stalled? or not opening?

Also, I didn't pay attention but if someone drives past they can see if the Jollibee coming soon signs have been removed or not, they were on the fencing before.

A new McDonalds is opening in Surrey on KGH and 128st, is the other location moving to this one or will they both stay open? anyone know? The other location is at 120 and Patullo Place.

Those locations seem too close for two McDonalds to stay open, IMO. It's really the exact same market and location. But we'll see, but my guess is the new one is a replacement.

Although there are cases of a tighter cluster in a suburban setting (I don't count close proximity in downtowns because those restaurants really behave differently, I'm only thinking the full proper restaurants). The ones on Grandview/Renfrew, Lougheed Boundary, and Still Creek near Willingdon are pretty close to each other, now with the new one also at Brentwood (it's almost more a "downtown" location, but still).

They sold off the land so it will be a single location, no cannibalizing Big Macs

thanks for the info. The new one seems to be much easier to access and it has much better visibility.

The Popeyes location downtown, which is located in the CBC building on Hamilton Street, looks like it's progressing well. Signage is up, nice patio on the plaza, should be good location.

The old Red Robin in Langley has been demolished, it is getting replaced by King Taps based out of Toronto, I assumed it would just get renovated but they are starting from scratch.

Damn, another Red Robin bites the dust. Not sure what they are doing, as their locations are always seemingly busy when I go.

I mean if you are dumping money into franchise fees then you want a brand that is growing. They are trying to fix their business in the US so Canada will just limp along.

Wow - that's huge. Wonder how this will impact the planned food outlets in the Post building?
