That ground floor retail is almost exactly the size of the Loblaws on Isabella

That large retail ground space is begging for a grocery store. An urban Metro or Sobey's would be great.

Looking at the render, the towers step up and floorplates become smaller and smaller between the 2nd and 8th floor. So I'd imagine it will only rise faster and faster.

Those curves though... wow. Can't wait to see the materials go up too.

, and these huge spaces, we will hopefully get some much needed retail options for the area. It's puzzling how such a dense area of town was served by very little retail for so long. Other than the Mac's Milk that used to be on Albert at the base of Trebla, which probably had more to do with the transit stop than the residential density, we had virtually nothing between Lyon and the Escarpment.

Occo, Gastropub, the rehabilitated Trebla and these should go a long way to revitalize and activate the area.

I still can't believe we are getting this and it looks amazing so far! Its almost sad that we are not getting this building in a better spot where we could see it from all sides and from a distance on the skyline. I could only imagine what this would look like at Zibi or Lebreton flat

I image Ottawa Tech and the row of heritage houses to Bronson will stick around for a while, so it will remain visible from that angle. Hoping it pokes above Moon enough to be visible from the Hull side, but probably not due to the elevation (Ottawa being higher than Hull), but maybe we'll see it from iconic A5 and A50 angles.

The Marriott tower should be quite visible from all angles.

Poor Ottawa. Excited over curves on a concrete structure. I'm praying for you guys the cladding matches the thrill of a curvaceous concrete structure. Unfortunately, The close up shot in post #534 indicate angled flat panels will create the curves.

We have to hold on to hope that this may actually be a good, unique project for once. Likely they'll botch it like most other projects in Ottawa, but until then, we're happy to live in ignorance.

Our RTX city building videocard is on backorder. We will have to roll onboard graphics for the next decade or so.

The developers and architects in Ottawa are quite happy with Intel UHD graphics though, they get the same money as other city's developers and architects get who are producing designs with an RTX A6000.

Took a closer, in person, look this week and have to say I like how this is looking so far. I really like all the curves (I will come back to that issue in a sec) and I really like the various step backs on some elevations. Steel framing for the various ground floor canopies are already being installed. I will have to look at the render again to see how exactly the retail space fits in before having another visit.

The curves aren't really curves if you look closely. They are actually a series of small straight sections with a multitude of small angle changes. Because there are so many so close to each other it appears to be a steady curve from across the street or further away. I expect the cladding and railings will use this same idea for looking like a curve but may be more noticeable.

In that last photo the forward crane base passes right through the center of the 3rd floor roof infinity pool. Might be ok but that is a big patch to add pool floor tile to.
