wouldnt that be on parker and not the gov? Dont think he has much control over street sweeping of local streets. There is already a plan to expand coverage next year, I'm hopeful that PArker will double down and push for even greater expansion- assuming they have the equipment and manpower to do so.

I think it was initially intended to open for 2026 festivities but there was absolutely zero political willpower to push things along and make that happen. AFAIK the money has been earmarked for years now. I’m guessing it’s inter-regulatory issues - most likely at the state level (which is almost as a policy apathetic toward the city) - that have just ground this to a halt. Without someone bulldogging this politically it’s going to continue to drag on indefinitely - I have not seen any actual work done on this thing and it’s now mid-2023.

They relocated some electrical lines in the right lane of Delaware Ave a few months back. That's the only work I've seen done.

I ran by the site yesterday and didn't see anything going on. It was a Sunday though so maybe not surprising. I tend to run by this every week or so so if I see activity I'll post an update.

Walked by the Roberts Pediatrics Center yesterday and the expansion is making good progress; the steel is above ground; some beams have risen to what will be the 3rd floor. Progress is nice to see.

Right now any upward growth is looked for; haven't heard of anything being over 30 or 40 floors in a really long time; but this is at least a positive sign.

We've entered a slower market due to a variety of factors culminating in rising interest rates and projects having a hard time getting financing. We're going to see a slower development cycle probably over the next year or two until things start to pick back up again. With that said....

^ Thanks for the rundown, Philly has always had one of the better skylines in the US, exciting to see it chugging along still.

If only those supertalls in West Philly can come to fruition in the next decade or so.

Wasn't there also a 700 foot proposal near the Ben Franklin Bridge a few years ago? I assume that one is dead...

That was Durst's Penn's Landing proposal. Nothing is happening there at least until the new park is finished. Durst seems to have stalled on their Philly portfolio for the time being. This was their first project outside of NYC, so it'll be interesting to see what happens there long-term.

Melbourne is amazing! I was there about 4 years ago and the buildings going up then were phenomenal. Such a great city.

I'm not good with posting images (does this work?), but here's a shot of skyline I took while I was in Philly last month. Absolutely love how the skyline is being stretched to east and west. UC now connected to center city (and more gaps closing soon). And then even more height next to BFB.
