This is an exciting time for the City as the new tallest building in the core is getting underway. Mobilization has started and site prep work starts this week.

This project should get it's own thread as 395 Slater St. The height is 118m. 35 floors plus one floor of Mechanical. She will stand out once completed.

Fantastic news! Do you have a source, and where did you get 118m? I have 116m. I will update the wiki with 118m if you can find it for me

A cool 6m taller and a block further west at similar elevation to PDV-C. I agree it should look significantly taller from the West and Southwest.

Remember this one has a flat top and PDV-C's height includes it's little mechanical penthouse. This will boost the prominence significantly. I check the topography in case there were any surprises, but both buildings appear to have bases at identical elevations.

Cross-post. Footprint looks really small from that angle, but it's huge from ground level. So far so good with the curves, good spacing between the towers. Should provide a fantastic contrasts to the mostly square buildings around. Though honestly, most buildings offer a certain amount of articulation (Teron's towers on Bay and Queen, the Delta's slight bow, wedding cake Constitution Square and Minto Place, even Pinnacle from Claridge). It's really just Moon that is absolutely flat and perfectly square.

Love seeing those curves coming in. This thing it's going to give the area such a face lift.

I'm happy we are seeing this come up. In just two projects, this western portion of the CBD has been re-shaped by a lot.

And all these projects (Moon, Relevé and Marriott Renaissance) all have generous retail spaces that hopefully will close some major gaps in the areas offerings.

It's insanity that Zibi will have a grocery store within a five minute walk before the West half of downtown and Little Italy do.

Not the best photos, but nice to see the shape and form of this project coming together.

A beauty so far. Looks a lot like the renderings, shape wise. Can't wait to see these gain some height and cladding.

We had floor plans a year+ ago showing retail, but here it is again:

https://releveottawa.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/Ottawa_400AlbertRetailLeasingTeaser_Jan2020.pdf

Interesting that the Marriott's retail is included in the brochure. Either hasn't been updated, or they are in partnership.

Quote:
Site Context

The property is located in the western half of
Ottawa’s downtown core bordering the edge of
where the downtown office node (Constitution
Square, Minto Place, and Place de Ville) meets
Centretown-West’s residential area offering a
dynamic mix of both daytime and evening activity
around the site.

The unique character of the location is
enhanced by tourism, hotel and institutional uses
nearby. Supply of retail space in the trade area is
clearly lacking as office and residential densities
continue to grow, creating a strong business case
for consumer and service related businesses to
support the increasing demand.

400 Albert is a 1.5 acre site that is being
developed into a multi-family mixed-use complex
with construction expected to commence in 2021.
Of particular importance to the plan is the newly
constructed Ottawa Confederation LRT with its
Lyon Street Station, accessible by underground
tunnel, opposite the site which adds another
dimension to the nearby trade area.

400 Albert will offer a uniquely urban and
comfortable atmosphere for residents to live,
work and shop. This site is an advantageous
opportunity for retailers to acquire prime retail
space in Ottawa’s downtown core, with transit
connectivity and an increasing population base.

Podium is done. 1 floor per week is pretty much what we're seeing.
