Noticed an Air Inuit 737-200 at one point today, a relatively common visitor but yesterday they announced they'd be replacing them with three 737-800 combis over the next 24 months.

YUL just experienced a power outage and I would expect diversions to becoming here shortly!

AC774 A330 from LAX already making the call to come to YOW.

Expect them to land on 14 (as of now!)

Edit: AC774 is also the Star Alliance livery Airbus.

Double edit: YUL allowing arrivals since the ILS is working. Ground stop in YUL though.

YUL is currently in a ground stop due to a power outage (I'm assuming based on a reason of "power" in the OIS). All inbound flights appear to be holding. There is also bad weather in YYZ, so wouldn't be surprised if there's diversions inbound.

Edit: Looks like a false alarm. AC774 (AC A330 with Star Alliance livery) actually shows as diverting to YOW on FR24, but now appears to be heading to YUL.

Edit 2: AC099, a separate Star Alliance livery A330 is indeed heading to YOW.

I had the opportunity to use the Verified Traveller lane at YYC on Saturday, and it certainly was nice being able to not only bypassing the long lineups to get through security, but not having to remove anything from your bags.

YYC is certainly a lot busier than YOW though. They have 3 domestic terminals, each with their own security line and yet each one had about an estimated 20 minute wait (and this was on Canada Day morning). Only 2 of the terminals have Verified Traveller lines and you could just walk right through without anyone in front of you.

Compare that to YOW, where the half dozen times I have departed from domestically in the past couple months (at varying times of day), there has been at most 6 people in the regular line, but usually it is empty, making a Verified Traveller significantly less valuable (though not having to take things out of your bag is nice).

I managed to catch the *A 330 yesterday afternoon as it was flying over Old Ottawa East. Thought it might have been a sub for a YVR-YOW but apparently not.

That’s Hangar 14, undergoing renos for DND’s Aerospace Engineering Test Establishment. It’s moving from Cold Lake to YOW.
