the last shot in the drone video really shows the building off to wonderful effect. elegant and assured, man I hope they really stick the landing with the crown. I had a tour of the new Jahn offices at the end of May and it seems like the key people there are happy with the solution for the top and feel its an improvement over previous designs... we shall see...

For comparison, the architectural height of 1000M will be about 10' higher than the highest occupied floor in NEMA. You can see it's almost there in this video from this past week. I love these videos, they're pretty great.

So I counted 56 floors with finished exterior glazing, and the core at 71-72 floors...if this is 73 floors, then it appears structural top-off is imminent!

NBC did the skyline and 1000 proud, specially during overtime... lots of fun and proud after so much negativity!

Wow! a project that began with a number of setbacks, and serious questions about its ability to be completed, or what it's completion would look like, to this beauty on Michigan avenue is remarkable.

I watched the NASCAR event over the weekend and this building kept coming up on both the B-roll and the shots of the race itself. I kept wondering, if I weren't from Chicago, how would I react to seeing the city like this? Honestly, it looked awesome, and having this slick building going up during the telecast reinforced that.

Like NEMA for any broadcast of the Chicago Marathon and Lolla, 1000M is having a moment in the sun. Or in Sunday's case, cloud-covered skies with Biblical rain.

I love that I predicted a while back this building would be the star of the NASCAR broadcast and my post was removed for being too off topic lol.

More rooms with a view coming to classic stretch of Michigan Avenue
A high-rise tower designed by the late Helmut Jahn is expected to welcome its first renters in 2024.
By David Roeder Jul 10, 2023, 6:00am CDT

NASCAR weekend is over, and Chicago survived. NBC Sports’ dreamy, panning shots of downtown and Grant Park, despite the foul weather, delivered for city officials eager to boost tourism.

The shots also bestowed attention on a flashy addition to the skyline — an apartment tower going up at 1000 S. Michigan Ave., an address that will make the 73-story building prominent in the postcard image of Chicago.

From the article "The South Michigan area is “maybe the premier residential neighborhood in the city,” Singer said"

Ya nope.

This beautiful building will help, but South Loop has a long way to go.
