I read somewhere that Wendy's is the most expensive fast food place, but judging from my weekend sortie I would put A&W up there for rip off prices.

Wendy's looks generally slightly less obscene than A&W when looking at comparable items

It's also significantly gooder, so there's that.

A sign for a Thai Express has been installed this week, next to the Sushi Shop. A car-dependent food court it really is...

Cool. That block must be the 'Asian district' of Destination V.

That's probably the saddest thing I've ever read.

The Thai express is now opened.

Now there is a Bar Burrito and Salvatore pizza joint there (as mentioned previously), ruining the Asian theme.

I guess it is the 'international restaurant' block now.

Along with an optometrist - La Vue - across in the new building.

Big hole in the ground there too. Definitely one of the new apartment buildings with a view over the Uber Eats Kitchen Mall.

A Première Moisson sign has been installed next to the optometrist. Third one in the region I believe!

I don't mind a Premiere Moisson opening up, good to support local businesses. But it seems a new 2 story structure has popped up to the south of it with no sign, I wonder what that will be? Either a restaurant or an SAQ? An SAQ is needed in this area.

I could certainly see a SAQ there. People may argue that there is already a location at the Galeries and one at the other end of the Plateau, but look at de la Savane where you have a SAQ depot and Selection within walking distance from each other.

Now that they are closing Allumettières WB between Vanier and Samuel-Edey every night at 7 pm until 5 am for construction until mid-July, the intersection there is exponentially worse at night now.

Flashing reds at an intersection where no-one knows how to drive.

So in helping one of my kids try to find a job, I've come across a posting for job openings at a McDonald's at a "Vanier" location in Gatineau.

There is also construction of a building with what appears to be a drive-thru service area in front of Pizza Salvatore.

Do with that information what you will.

It makes sense! McDonald's is one of the only kitchens missing from Destination Uber Eats Kitchens.

I wonder what that new empty space at the Shell station on Front will bring. It looked like a prime McDonald's location.

It looked like a McDonald's, it smelled like a McDonald's... and.. it is going to be a McDonald's... saw the sign on the fence a couple of days ago.

Hooray.

Does anyone know what has just started being built? It's all fenced in and is a spot large enough for a grocery store, i've been silently hoping/wishing it might be an Adonis grocery store.

Anyone heard anything of what it is?

I can't think of any other grocery brand, since all the other ones are represented fairly well around.
