Given how dead that street is already, it probably won't make things worse.

I loved the row of huge old industrial buildings the Grande Bibliothèque replaced. There was an incredible indoor skate park in there that I frequented at a teenager called 'Taj Mahal'. Great memories.

They could have at least tried to make things a bit better.

Kinda looks like Batman designed it. Not the library Edmonton wanted.....or deserved.
Still, they got a "Special Mention" for the design (Edmonton Public Library - Stanley A. Milner Library (Downtown))

May was a busy and productive month at the Ādisōke project site. Pouring of the second floor is nearly complete and work is progressing well on the third floor. Installation of the elevator shafts are also underway.

In the coming weeks, pouring of the second floor will be completed, and the third floor will start to be poured.

Man if we could just develop that parcel on the other side of Booth it would make the area seem exponentially more urban. Still looks like a derelict farmers field.

Great to see the progress on the library!

Hoping we can, at the very least, develop the lot between the library and Dream LeBreton within the next 4 years.

They are starting on the third floor and we are starting to get an idea of the mass of this thing!

I hate Commissioner Steet, that ultrawide driveway that only exists because of that ultra sized parliamentary parking lot on the river. I hate it SO MUCH. I dream of the day both are gone.

I think this is going to be pretty massive at the street level, I actually like the design, and that shot of them starting the third floor is very indicative of that. I am also excited for this to finish.

Yes for sure. With most of the busses gone (I guess the construction chasing away the remaining traffic helps) the pedestrian experience in that area is totally different and a completed library will really help fill in the gap between downtown and Le Breton.

It's very noticeable from Bay St. now, and when looking down Albert/Slater. Should be a real landmark.
