Don't worry, that will definitely be included in the final project. That screen is incredibly valuable, no one would build the project without it. In fact, that screen is the reason I have hope that this project will get rescued. Having that screen makes it much easier to make the rest of the project pencil.

The fundamental conditions that made huge LED screens at the site of Oceanwide lucrative before the pandemic are still in place. The arena and the larger LA Live complex still draw huge crowds to various games, shows, conventions, performances, etc. There are a lot of eyeballs in that area.

It would be dope if AEG buys it…who knows, that might be something in the works. It’s just not public knowledge on any level.

I'm very excited to see this one rise! It will be the 4th tallest in the city, and given its location, it should make a pretty dramatic impact on the skyline.

700 apartments and the height of 760 feet offsets the Mayan and Belasco, which will never be torn down (nor should they be).

^^^ As long as it's not a blueish green box with more balconies than a cruise ship then I'm all for it. Another unpopular opinion but i would be happy if LAs next tallest is something with defined windows like the US bank building. Sheets of glass unless they are curvy and unique are starting to get real boring.

Waiting for the properties north of & to the east of Onni's proj to be filled in is a never ending guessing game. The new apt tower, however, should help take attention away from those gaps....slowly but surely it's getting there.

Centro Westlake TOD

Not sure if this is old new or not, but I stumbled on this
proposal from March for the Westlake Metro TOD.

It would feature 668 residential units with 234 income-restricted
housing units, hotels, offices, and retail spaces. Additionally, it would have an "international marketplace", an LAPD substation, and two additional entrances to the B and D lines.

The main towers would be 34 floors and 408" feet and 44 floors and 510" feet. There would also be one 6-story and 99" foot tower, a 3-story and 76" foot pavilion, and two 2-story and 46" foot buildings.

The project is hoping for metro board approval in Q3 of 2024 and groundbreaking in Q4.

Plus some shots from my development map:

View of them with the Lake on Wilshire tower that probably will never be built.

That would be a monumental change for Westlake and the area around the park

Crazy if that's real! It says March 23, so must be new.

That's one of the shittiest parts of the city at the moment.
Bull doze most of it.
It's been prime real estate for too long.

It looks real. Its on the mta site. The previous proposal wasn't built because it wasn't enough affordable units.

This proposal doubled the affordable units, so that might be enough to push it through. Wow.

The purple line subway will generate so many 40 story proposals this decade.

I like the mid-block crosswalk in the rendering. Straight from the subway into MacArthur Park! It's odd that the 10-story Walter J. Towers would be torn down for this proposal, though--is that building currently empty?

That proposal for MacAurthur park is amazing. It doesn’t surprise me though. I’ve heard from some interesting sources about back room deals on the purple line. Apparently, the only way that Beverly Hills approved a subway this time through their city would be if this area were cleaned up. The per square foot sales price in this area is among the highest in the whole city and there is already rumblings of a major luxury hotel of the big brands with plans for a hotel across from the park. I can’t name the source or the brand right now… but it’s upper echelon

If the following is struggling in today's economy & in a big city setting...& in a town that doesn't have as many of the 'urban' issues associated with dtla...I don't know how retail in the oceanwide proj can avoid being like a larger version of the bonaventure's shopping gallery.

Talk about PRIME!!!
Every time I drive through there, I think to myself...what if? It could be one of the coolest areas of LA on par with Silverlake...at least in IMO.
