The proposed design of Jericho has been unveiled. The response 'by the engaged volunteer citizens' for 'lower scale' development obviously didn't gain any traction. There are now plans for 13,000 units, (up from 9,000) with a cluster of three 49-storey towers by the proposed Jericho Station location (centre-west of the site) and a 45 storey in the centre of the eastern cluster of buildings. Lower towers surround the taller towers, and there are a series of wood-frame midrises beyond that, along West 8th Avenue. Earlier versions suggested 18,000 more residents. The new plan could add 26,000.
The park area has grown larger - and there are more water features as part of the landscaping. There's 20% social housing and 10% secured rental housing for moderate incomes (previously they were just 'market rental).
