PD have added a 4th daily YOW-YYZ with a late 2210 departure on a Dash 8 (I guess it being late allows it to pick up some YOW connections from elsewhere). One of the three other flights has also switched over to a DH4.

Other stuff is lounge-y type general discussion.
Based on this, it seems you would even consider Dominion301's departure count as off-topic.

What I was thinking is this thread would be 100% Ottawa Airport, including development, ancillary services, flights present and future, so on and so forth.

A new thread would be for any aviation discussions outside Ottawa, like airlines, flights and developments in other cities...

Sorry, just want to understand the intricacies. Like I said earlier, I don't spend a whole lot of time on this thread. I was always under the assumption that anything aviation went here, but I do want to make improvements if that's what the frequent flyers (pun intended) would like.

I started a general aviation thread for anything that is unrelated to the Ottawa Airport, or Gatineau Airport (which has its own thread, https://skyscraperpage.com/forum/sho...hlight=airport). Here is is down here:

https://skyscraperpage.com/forum/sho...29#post9961129

I know this isn't exactly what you had in mind YOWflier, but hopefully it moves a good portion of the off-topic discussions elsewhere.

Looking at flights to NYC. I gotta say, Porter has some good time slots.

Very sad how these are unusable O&D. They are ridiculously expensive
Update: Just checked Google flights. Seems cheaper now but still expensive. They used to be $1000+ on any day.

Now that you mention it, it does just basically add to the clutter and cause people to look at the thread in case there is something useful posted. It was a fun little novelty during covid but it doesn't really mean anything now without any type of context to pre-covid volumes.

Happy to fly Porter, enjoyed my last flight with them recently. I hope it can join either SkyTeam or OneWorod.

Different business models... I did wonder if AC might increase presence in Ottawa at some point to avoid losing to Porter with their expansion here..though it could also be that AC just lets that market share go. I recall when I used to fly on the routes to LHR and FRA, business class upgrades always seemed much easier to come by to/from Ottawa then if I left out of YYZ/YUL... I wonder if the reason those flights haven't come back yet, is that Ottawa passengers are simply less likely to buy up an international J cabin that is a substantial part of the profit of these routes?
When I fly with my husband, I get his Star Alliance benefits so we fly Air Canada.

When I fly on my own to NS (basically the only place I go on my own), I used to take Porter because that gave me a lounge. Then the lounge closed but that only affected me once.

You are right about different business models.

If there’s no longer a desire to have those, I will stop. Open to input.

68 today FWIW.

Flying Porter to NYC next week and the 7:55-9:30am timeslot is great and ensures we have a full day there.

I personally liked the updates about # of flights and cancellations.

How much does this smoke affect the routes?

I see on Thursday, Toronto should be absolutely bombarded with smoke. Is there a visibility limit that can be reached?

I find it interesting. Don't know if it's possible to add points of comparison.

I also appreciate the departure/cancellation stats and feel they are relevant. Maybe they can be augmented with pre-COVID daily average to enable quick comparison. Regulars will know that it was about 110 departures per day but others may not. Maybe there’s also a way to show the trend over time without making it too burdensome on Dominion.

I vote to keep them. Nice daily touch on here, thank you.

Hoping this year YOW gets 4m+ with increased Porter departures and AF’s introduction.

I flew YOW-EWR this weekend on AC and would 100% go Porter in the future. While the new terminal A is nice at EWR, you need a separate shuttle to get to the terminal from the AirTrain station and it's two stops further than terminal B where Porter operates out of. Only case I'd advise against using Porter is if you have a tight connection onwards to JetBlue as they operate out of different terminals which I don't believe have a way to connect airside, so you'd need to leave Terminal B, grab the AirTrain to "Terminal A", then shuttle or ~15 min walk to the actual terminal and re-clear security.

Although I really wish that someone would fly to LGA from YOW.

Edit to add: Also appreciate Dominion301's updates

Yes, I also appreciate Dominion's daily updates. It's been nice to see the slow uptick in departures since the start of the pandemic.
