You and I both agreed that this is exactly what Rideau needed awhile back I believe. I love this for Ottawa because Uniqlo is awesome.
Would be a welcomed addition that's for sure. I still wish the original concept of 2-story stores with separate entrances along Rideau was kept alive. This would've helped make Rideau St more appealing & vibrant and bridge the gap between the mall and the market. Uniqlo, H&M, Zara could've all done that...

I wandered up on the roof of the Rideau Centre earlier this week and it really seems like a lost opportunity to do so much more up there. If they put even an ounce of effort into beautifying the space and adding a couple patios and outdoor amenities, it could become a destination of its own.
There’s something very unique about the space because it’s so calm and peaceful with zero traffic noise.
Nordstrom's restaurant had a patio out into that space and gave it a bit of life. I think a little "village" of 4 or 5 restaurants up there would be quite nice.

Agreed. CF, Westin and the Convention Centre turn their backs on this amazing space. So much potential squandered.

Level 4? So that is the old cinema. That's probably why. Hopefully, once they open, terrace access will be as well. Maybe they can bring some activity to it as well, like giant board games.

If you look at the leasing plan, the vacant space on the 4th floor is above the soon-to-be Uniqlo and not the 3rd floor Imaginaire space. It just doesn't line up.
No. Simons is part of the 2016 expansion, where Ogilvy used to be. The cinema was at the edge of the original Rideau Centre.
