That lot is directly across the street from my work. It would be a great spot for a development like this, hopefully it will happen.

I can’t see them not giving them the same deal, way too much to lose if they decide to terminate their agreement.

Any idea who the developer is? Good spot right next to the St Clair campus I believe.

I've seen this drawing on Baird AE website for quite some time now. It doesn't list the developer tho.

I wonder if this is the same proposal from a few years back for Victoria and Park? This is the first time seeing renderings for something like this so I hope it goes forward this time

The development is being called " The Glenkash " luxury suites. If you look them up and follow their website, there seems to be varying possibilities on the building ranging from 13 stories up to 23 stories.

Also, the proposed condos on Goyeau street are definitely legit. There's a giant billboard at the location promoting them and they start in the low 500s which is ridiculous to me given the location. Do you really want to deal with potentially facing the ambulance bay at Hotel Dieu for the next 10 years ( lord knows the new hospital won't be done by then ) as well as the actual neighborhood as it is now? Going to be a while before its cleaned up... unless more of these projects can come along at a quicker pace

Wasn't this part of a larger proposal a couple years ago that included 6 towers?

Either way nice to see movement on this!

I’m pretty sure that 6 tower proposal was for the CBC lands off Riverside Dr.

Renovations seem to be picking up at the Metropolitan Building at University and Victoria. New signage seems to be up and a sign is up from Rosati Group for commercial/office tenants for the ground floor. They updated the facade at the ground level and the interior seems to be stripped away with work still being done. Not sure if there is a tenant lined up or not but nice to see that building get some love.

Anyone know if something is going on at the old Sears at Devonshire? I noticed after they closed the vaccination clinic that they never put the "For Lease" sign back up. Is this just a case of them not putting it back up, or is there a tenant they are working with? I'm assuming the former but the latter would be nice

Maybe they gave up

A while ago I heard Bass Pro was moving in but nothing materialized. They should consider converting to residential. That building can hold several units.

LOL that's fair, and what I was assuming for the most part. Very true about the residential. The Sears and the parking lot could definitely fit some density

Saw some additional updates to the Metropolitan Building on Twitter as well. Looks super nice! https://twitter.com/jonliedtke/status/1660383895718641664/photo/1

Port of Windsor is expanding

Quote:
“This is transformational for our region… Short-sea container shipping on the Great Lakes, and soon to be at Port Windsor, will relieve congestion in the supply chain, reduce GHG’s, and increase access to world markets for industry in Windsor and Essex County,”said Steve Salmons, president and CEO of the Windsor Port Authority.
