I wonder if they would consider taking over and finished the St. Mary building.

^ I would suspect there is many months, possibly years of legal'ish things to work out before anyone can just swoop in and start building that place again.

D Condo wasn't years for it to start up again. Let's hope this can be resumed soon.

^ I don't think it was the same process (I could be wrong tho).

In this case, there is a bankruptcy and many millions of $$ that are outstanding to several suppliers/consultants/contractors.

It's way messier than D Condo, where the bank took it over after there was concerns about delays, cost over runs and that the developer could not finish it.

From today's Free Press talking about the new cafe Lavanda opening up in the building in Sept.

Quote:
She’s hunkering into a 251-unit apartment building that was fully leased in June, according to the property’s owner. Smith Street Lofts opened last year, replacing a Manitoba Housing site.

Thought I'd share a photo of this project. I wasn't sure about it during the build. But every time I go by, I quite like it.

The photo kind of 🞵🞵🞵🞵🞵 tough lol
