2 cranes! and a concrete pump. I guess this is my build to watch now that Hintonburg is on hold. Well... that's not entirely true.. Dale 2 and 400 Albert are up there but this will be a real game changer for this entire neighborhood. We have 3 buildings under construction right here if you disregard the near finished buildings further up Cummings.

I would imagine the proposal on the adjacent parcel and the oddball towers in the St. Laurent loop might start to get closer to shovel ready when phase 2 is getting underway.

This entire area is painfully under utilized, both sides of the highway and both sides of the mall. I said it before but I'll say it again, the fact that they are going with the taller tower first just astonishes me. It should act as a good catalyst to other developments that might get some pushback despite being on a gravel lot or brownfield.

Seeing a 115 metre tower as you round the curve on the 417 between Innes and St. Laurent coming in from MTL will be really neat. It's a great gateway feature.

I can just imagine the Confederation and (partial) Trillium Lines looking like Toronto's Yonge Street Line and the Skytrain; clusters of towers at each station.

I was driving by Terrasses de la Chaudiere on my way home today, looking way up at it, and thinking how huge Lux place, only 2 metres shorter, is going to look in the middle of a lowrise neighbourhood. It's going to be the most prominent building in the region for a while, at least until the neighbouring towers are built out.

Even the Frontier towers are quite prominent from Anderson road and the 417/Hunt Club so this will be something indeed.

Nice pic. I think I see pit walls so they may still be one level below grade. But it won't be long!

Exciting to see this one rise, it will probably be pretty visible from the 417 given its location and the minimum amount of buildings surrounding it today.

Is this the tallest tower currently U/C in Ottawa?

Thanks to Harley meticulously keeping the Wikipedia Page up to date, we can say with certainty, yes!

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_tallest_buildings_in_Ottawa%E2%80%93Gatineau

Likely Dream's Tower 1 of the Library Parcel, at 665 Albert, and Rimap's Marriott Renaissance, at 400 Albert, will likely take the number 1 and 2 spots in the near future.

Can't wait till this entire triangle of land gets completely redeveloped. As it stands, it's fairly underutilized but holds a lot of potential to add density and design to the area. The Lux is a start but hopefully some developers take a second glance at some of the other surrounding parking lots.

This is the plan for the other major parking lot in that triangle:

I'll see this one grow from my window. Excited to see more density near LRT stations.

As of this week, this will no longer be the tallest tower under construction in Ottawa at 115 metres! The Renaissance Marriott Ottawa (395 Slater St) beats it by 3 metres.

Looks like they're pushing to finish the 8 story podium before continuing on the 36 story tower. Can't wait to see this building from the 417!

Howdy! I'm a longtime lurker and I figured I'd try to add something to the discussion.

I snapped some photos (apologies for the quality) while walking my dog yesterday. They are moving quickly, particularly with the hotel you see on the left. Note that Claude's chip truck has adapted to its new neighbour, now offering coffee in what I assume is targeted at the workers.
