If you look really closely looks like there are dividers but they look either clear or the same design as the railing.

Some Atlantic Station action. The AMLI project has finally started.

Also not true Atlantic Station but the 400 Bishop project (on Bishop Street, behind Target) started a couple of weeks ago. Looks like thy may have deleted the pedestrian bridge crossing the tracks and into Atlantic Station.

May the horrible sketchy alley next to Target live forever!

Nice to see Amli getting started. That huge hole coming around the connector annoys the hell out of me.

Unfortunately not really an ally. It is a connector road for a commercial distributor(???) that has been here forever (I think since Atlanta Steel days). Unfortunate it crosses the railroad tracks with NO gates (red line). This means that ALL trains MUST blow their horns several times before crossing. It is soooooo annoying, especially since it is a busy corridor.

Also it doesn’t offer any access to Atlanta Station.

Would be SUPER GREAT if the property was sold and moved into Atlanta Station with entrances on State St. and then the railroad crossing/road removed. Seems there have been rumors that the person or group that owns it kinda wants to sell but asking WAY too much.

I have often wondered what the purpose was of leaving the triangle property behind 20th St. out of the original design. It seems somewhat restricted for development since it is discounted from and just faces the ‘back’ of Atlantic Station.

Apple Maps.

I've never paid attention to this property, but it looks like it could be the perfect solution for a new Amtrak station if the once proposed multi-modal station downtown in The Gulch isn't feasible. I don't blame the property owners for holding out if a highest and best use could end up being a real rail station at Atlantic Station.

It was in the earlier designs. It was supposed to be where the larger office buildings were going to go. At this rate, we may have to wait another 20 years before that (ever?) happens

It is not disconnected in theory, what will happen when they redevelop that triangle property is I assume that Market St NW will be extended north bridged over 20th street so that the triangle property true ground level will be at the same plane as the rest of Atlantic Station with the parking again underneath.

Just still seems like a poor view to have your new office building facing up the a$$. Seems some better foresight planning of the rear of Atlantic Station's facade would have been in order. Can't help but wonder if this has contributed to lower the prospects since inception?

At least the new development will face north.

Apartments going up behind Target on Bishop Street.

Randall Brothers seems to be closed down or at least emptied out now. Anyone know what the status is? would love for it to be sold and incorporated into Atlantic Station, eliminating the RR crossing on Mecaslin St and making it open to Market Street. Damn train horns for that crossing drive me crazy.
.
Still strange to see Randall Brothers vacant, quiet and no one or movement on site.

If it's true that The Gulch is logistically impossible for Amtrak to maneuver a train in and out of a station there, I think the Randall Bros. property is the next logical spot. There's also a decent site behind Ikea adjacent to that Fuqua strip mall on 17th Street.

Plausible thought. Hope it is true as plus it would add free shuttle service to MARTA (ArtsCenter). I'm sure that part of the plan would be to incorporate into Atlanta Station and remove the Mecaslin St back alley.

The Fuqua strip is a little past the Shuttle route but of course it could be extended.
