When I looked at the site drawings a number of year back, It looked impressive but seeing the video you get a real sense of the scale of the project. Add in the boarder crossing stations and this truly is a massive site.

The Newfoundland and federal governments announced an agreement today to upgrade the TCH. Adding some passing lanes around Port aux Basques; extending the four-lane section eastward from Grand Falls to Bishop's Falls (`15km) and extending the four lanes westward for `40km from the current end point in Whitbourne.

When th Kicking Horse and all the other highway improvements on the TC are finally done, will the entire TC in BC be completely 4 lanes all the way to the Alberta border?

Lol nope, not even close. Less than 50% of BC Highway 1 east of Kamloops will be, plus there is another 100km of federal highway in the National Parks that are mostly 2 lane.

Kamloops to Hope the TC will only be four laned by redesignation of the Coquihalla.

That would be akin to wondering whether once the Whiteshell section of TCH Highway 17 is done whether the province of ON will have all of their TCH done.

AFAIK, except a small part of QC, BC and ON have the most 2 lanes for their TCH that crosses the country with no divided highway route that can bypass it. BC has about 400km and ON has over 1500km to do still.
