Self storages keep getting built in Vancouver, it's definitely not an industry of a bygone era.

True although ones built like this one are not common anymore

The SE Marine & Kerr project is now known as 3125 Pierview Crescent, it's switched from a strata proposal to one with 90 rental homes. The northern portion was sold in 2021 after the rezoning was approved by council, though that shouldn't affect the plans for the city-owned social housing on the south side.

so disappointing they didnt build the park off of SE Marine. all that land and they pick a chunk right next to a massive road. sigh.

This is South Kinross Park under construction. It's quite some distance from Marine Drive, and closer to the river. The next phase will be Foreshore Park to the south of it, next to the river, which will be even bigger, but construction involves existing riverside habitat and will take a little longer - probably next year. There's only one small park on the side of the road, North Kinross Park, and in between is Middle Kinross Park. There's a traffic light crossing to Kinross Ravine Park, on the north side of Marine Drive, which links to the bigger, established, Everett Crowley Park.

oops. i was thinking this was another park. i was thinking of the one on the N/E corner of E Sawmill Cr & SE Marine Dr.

should have looked closer at the photos. my bad.

That park has also had some construction ongoing, there's been some concrete work at the corner near the intersection. I could't see anything else, usually only drive by there at night.

yeah i saw that recently, that's why i assumed it was that one. seems like a bad spot for a park though. i hope they have fences/barriers so people/things dont roll into traffic...

The concept design shows terraced planting along Marine with trees and a hardscaped path and wall at the top of the hill.

Yeah that was my point. We don't see this extremely suburban style of sprawled out self storage units built much anymore thankfully.
