Pretty impressive. Only missing the Statesman/Riverside cluster. Otherwise very thorough!

Town Place Suites Hotel planned for 502 East 8th Street. It’s only 4-stories-the site is suffocated by the CVC.

That’s a disappointment that it will only be 4 stories tall, but at least they are taking over another empty lot and providing some infill. And with a moderately priced hotel chain at that.

Considering the location and the CVC restriction, I'm actually surprised we got this.

Anyone know what may be going on at 5th and Rio at the American Bank of Commerce building? I'm very much hoping for it to be redeveloped but it seems to be at least partially limited by CVC zoning.

Kind of looks like they are installing cell tower equipment. It might even be temporary for SXSW.

I thought it might be supplemental cell service for SXSW, too.

I'm sorry to post Musk Inc news here but the proper thread's been locked.

Archived link (Gets around the paywall)

Quote:
As of last year, Boring employees could apply for a home with rents starting at about $800 a month for a two- or three-bedroom, according to an advertisement for employees viewed by the Journal and people familiar with the plans. If an employee leaves or is fired, he or she would have to vacate the house within 30 days, those people said.
Sounds like a Company town

All for affordable housing, and if I was in local gov't I would approve this project, but Musk's utopia looks basically like an upscale trailer park LOL

As opposed to those hideous 4 & 5 story beehives being built all over Austin?
