New Proposal - 2980 Chuka Boulevard (formerly 2977 Trombley Street)

The subject property is located within the Towns Neighbourhood. The Towns Concept Plan identifies the property for mixed- use or high-density residential development.

The Applicant proposed to develop two 6-storey, mixed-use buildings with commercial uses on the ground floors and residential units above grade (140 units).

Would love this development also downtown.

And I can say we are working towards that Hopefully later in 2023 you'll see some more in the Heritage/Downtown/Warehouse precincts.

We are also behind this application. Ironically our first foray is this property into Regina and currently our only suburban project.

Our proposal on this includes an 11,500 SF Daycare on the Ground Floor of one of the buildings and then 10,500 sf of Retail uses on the ground floor of the Chuka facing building.

I was guessing you were! I already submitted support! Amazing! And yes please for more downtown infill.

You would be the perfect team to develop the Albert Street and 14th Avenue plot of land with this sort of project.

Doing so and commodifying housing was a purely neoliberal ideological decision made by governments at the behest of the ownership class and is the main reason why housing is so expensive today. Don't make me re-litigate this entire thing because I've already explained it. Its on you if you still don't understand.
Oh God. Thank You man. Thank You so much for showing how out of touch with the programs and realities you really are. RHI Funded projects do NOT have any private Ownerships involved. They are 100% Owned by Non Profits. FULL STOP condition of funding.

Take a moment before you keep spouting off and Educate yourself to the programs that the Federal Government has in place before you go off on a Tirade of "commodifying" housing.

You have no concept of why housing is so expensive other than your flawed ideological beliefs vs founded in actual realities of costs.

I am sick of your dismissing of my knowledge of this subject. It is extremely ignorant and elitist. You are clearly emotional and reacting to people not agreeing with your worldview. Why don't YOU tell us why housing has become so expensive? If you are saying its because of zoning, well, that is purposely being restricted in order to keep property values high so it benefits both existing home owners and those who own rentals.

I guarantee you I know more about this topic than you think I do.
youre very comment is far more elitist and ignorant than anything I've said. You are wonderful at deflecting the facts in my comments and just spinning it around in hypebole.

5th and Angus is ground zero for crime and structure fires in Regina. There is more crime and fires within 3 blocks of this location than anywhere in Regina. I wish them luck. I guess you need to start somewhere to clean up a neighbourhood.

No Pleasing the Master eh? Isn't investing public money in the midst of the area a step to working resolving the socio economic issues? In addition to the plans Cowesses have and Piapot also have on their urban reserve lands directly to the south?

It doesn't change overnight. Its a step in the right direction, the first significant investment that starts to address some of the issues in North Central in who knows how long.
