now i LOVE the idea of a grey water system. i think we should be looking into doing that here, personally; water scarcity will only get worse over time through population growth and global warming. i also do quite like infrastructure in general, so i find it fascinating from that aspect. BUT i would NOT want to be in a strata, on the hooks for the costs of 2 pressurized pipe systems built by a developer getting all their parts in china, and cutting corners on the labour... see what happened with Vancouver House.
Yeah, I was just thinking of the duplication and the various recent instances of leaks - Vancouver House, Charleson, etc.
It makes sense from an environmental perspective, just a question of the headaches and costs that could result.

Olympic village I believe they abandoned the gray water system. I think the Convention center is the only system that still works and has been fairly trouble free. Running gray water systems are $$ to the strata as to be done properly they need to treat the the water somehow. Otherwise you end up with growth etc. We have a water supply issue here for 3 maybe 4 months.. Is it worth the cost to build cisterns and pump that water to green roof when we are telling people to not water. More flaws of a head in sand metro Vancouver board

Our strata building has a cistern based system for some of our irrigation and our water feature. I wouldn't say it has been "trouble free" but it hasn't caused any major issues.

OTOH our city bills for sewer and water are massive. I don't know how it breaks down but this could be saving us money overall, hard to say.

Interesting. I think a friend who lived there said he had to use biodegradable detergents, etc. because the gray water was being used to water plants. I guess that became too troublesome to regulate.

I remember that my strata had massive water bills during Covid because everyone was staying at home!

I would expect gas and maybe electricity to increase, but water less so, unless people were showering at work.

Flushing toilets, I think, and some people may shower at the gym in the morning.

Truly astounding to see how Oakridge has ascended from what it once was.

Fantastic updates, thank you! It’s actually taking shape now.

Can anyone give an official simple rundown of which towers are currently U/C and their current planned heights?

Are you certain? I don't think Building 5 is under construction yet. That's the 52 storey rental, and I haven't seen a Development Application for it yet.

A screenshot taken from the UDP review of the Transit Plaza last year. Based on this, development applications still need to be filed for Buildings 5, 9, 10, 11, 13, and 14.

Yep, and from my understanding they are in flux too, some growing some shrinking. Will be interesting to see if the City allows much more density or if it comes in similar to what we've already seen.

I just noticed these "Site Plans" (Leasing Plans) at the Oakridge website.

Video Walk-Throughs:
https://leasing.oakridgepark.com/videos/

Food Store (Safeway) is really awkwardly shaped with a mezzanine; adjacent liquor store.
Is there a pedestrian streetfront entrance to the Safeway from Cambie (or is access only from parkade and mall)?

Connection from Canada Line is through a "Lower Galleria".

Hudson's Bay is the only department store. I don't see pedestrian entrances to Hudson's Bay from 41st Ave.
There's a 32,000 sq ft space at the south end of the mall on Level 1.
There's a 44,000 sq ft space at the west side of Level 2 marked "office".
14,000 sq ft and 23,000 sq ft units on 2nd floor of south side podiums.

P3
