The Little and Wheeler long term, big value deals killing the cap and limiting the teams ability to chase free agents.
Getting nothing in return when we gave away our first round draft pick from 2015.
Downgrading out 2016 draft pick in the Laine trade.
Giving up our 2018 first round pick to get Statsny and then losing out on renewing his contract to Vegas who offered more money.
Giving up our 2019 first round pick to pickup Hayes as the deadline.
Accepting Statsny back at the salary Vegas offered him when Vegas got themselves into a cap jam.
The whole Buff situation.
The state of the D line.
And all that is without even getting into how the most basically level of cap management you have four piles of cash - forwards, d, goalies and extra. Chevy has dumped way more than other teams on his forwards, often with questionable amounts or contract lengths. It has left the cupboard empty when it is time to put an offer out there for D players and is the biggest reason no one wants to come here, we simply don't have the cap space to pay them. That he could blow something so fundamental to his position is befuddling.

Let's be real here, drafting is all about the scouts that are out there finding the talent and presenting it to management, Chevy included, in a meaningful way. Chevy has almost as little to do with which players than team drafts as random people posting to online forums about the team.

See some of my previous comments. As I said a day or two ago the rot in the organization starts at a level higher than Chevy. And Chevy's cap mismanagement has
FAR more to do with why free agents and trades aren't coming this way than any other factor. When you lack the cap space you can't sign top tier players.

Covered in detail above how for many seasons Chevy was absolutely bent over by other teams in the league in terms of trades.
