Even my wife, who hates fast food, really liked it when she used to visit head office in Michigan for work. But, who knows how the Canadian version will stack up. Wonder if people will line up here for it like Moncton and Halifax people lined up for Popeyes?

Chic-Fil-A had a significant lead 20 years ago in the US SE where they were founded by a evangelical christian owner. The competition has caught up and surpassed them now. In Canada I would say the Mary Browns Big Mary sandwich was and still is as good as CFA. Today KFC and Popeyes new chicken sandwichs are as good or better then CFA in the fast food space. CFA waffle fries and milk shakes still stand out thou.

The Big Mary is definitely my favourite fast-food chicken sandwich

It looks like the London Club on Queens is planning a two story addition on the east side of the current building. No indication of when this renovation and addition is scheduled to happen yet.

Regarding the St Thomas land acquisition talked about a year or so ago. My wife was talking to a friend of hers last night who has multiple family members who own properties just east of Highbury. One owns a smaller plot and was already expropriated by the city, and they were told they will be given 60 days notice to vacate, which they are hearing will come within the next month. The mother of one of that couple owns a large farm in that same area, a few hundred acres. She just received notice of the intent to expropriate, but is negotiating to be given a year notice to vacate. Will be interesting to see how that one plays out. But it shows the city is serious about the pursuit of whatever it is they are trying to attract if they are laying out the kind of cash they are right now.

A block of residential development land at Commissioners and Meadowlily Rd has been sold for quite a sum. The next 10-20 years will see thousands of new homes built along the Commissioners corridor east of Highbury to Hamilton Rd and southward towards Bradley. The Summerside area will double the current population it has now during this time.

Commissioners Road East, Meadowlily Road South
type Residential development land (urban reserve)
price $20,500,000
seller Named individuals
buyer 1000296360 Ontario Inc.

And so it begins. Arva and the Township of Middlesex Centre want to amend and extend the agreement on the connection to the City's sewage treatment system to allow increased flows. No doubt plans are afoot to build more developments in Arva.

Apparently the old JYSK (Masonville) is becoming a Giant Tiger?

- RIP to that parking lot, if farmboy + LCBO didnt create enough chaos

Also, now heard a rumour there is a 2nd Chickfila Opening in the north end at Sunningdale/Richmond?

I think you're right. Google says that the old JYSK had an address of 50 North Centre Road so when I search that address in the city's online registry, permits come up for Giant Tiger.

And yes I absolutely hate that parking lot lol. Some of the aisles meet at really weird angles and whenever I go to that plaza, I purposefully park as far back as I can lol.

Interesting... also heard some rumours that McDonalds is opening up at that corner too but could never confirm that.

I deliver into one of the food shops in that plaza and I just love dealing with that parking lot in a truck lol. Giant Tiger makes sense, but yeah, that parking lot is going to suck huge. They also open earlier which will be a pain as I managed to get in and out before JYSK opened usually. Still can't picture JYSK in that old TSC store at Dundas and Clarke though, that one doesn't make sense to me.

As for CFA, isn't York the developer at their other location going in on Wonderland South? Makes sense that York would be able to get multiple locations out of them if true. Doesn't look any type of drive through in the plans just filed for the next phase of that plaza, although I imagine that can be amended. Maybe the next phase after that on the west side of the block?

I'd be more surprised to hear McDonalds relocating upto Villagewalk from their current location at North Center and Fanshawe. Although the drivethru is rather tight there a newer McDonalds might be tempting. A CFA and a Panera's would work at Villagewalk.

I don't think a Villagewalk McDonald's necessarily means North Centre closes.

St Thomas mega site land assembly update in the LFP. Of note is the plan to change municipal boundaries to bring it all within the City of St Thomas.

Wow that's kinda a big deal right? I sure hope as part of this they can tie in some kind of proper connection between Highbury and Highway 3. Also hoping the St Thomas Expressway can be incorporated somehow to this area by extending it a bit before curving to end at Talbot Street by the airport.
