I have no recollection of YYC-IAD by UA. But that's just me.

Canadian North Airlines started up the Yellowknife YZF- Calgary YYC - YZF route operated by the Boeing 737 1x daily, on February 14 2023 & giving WestJet competition on it again✅.

They fill the void of Air Canada which cut the YZF- YYC in mid January.

I think WS mostly flies the Q400 on that route, so no IFE and no hot meals. From what I understand, Canadian North offers meal service, although to what extent I don’t know. Do they have IFE on their 737 aircraft?

UA can't even maintain IAH double daily year round anymore, quite the fall from the grace of the CO days, and now they're adding IAD to feed into a significantly diminished AC operation. To all of us here this makes little to no sense, but we'll take it. The eastbound misses a bunches of transatlantics (and LOS) but can hit TLV and GRU. I dunno... my popcorn is ready.

In the same update, SFO got moved back to mainline. They’ve been swapping it back and forth between an Express E75 and mainline 319 very other week it seems.

Overall it brings them to 8x daily. (2x IAH, ORD, DEN and 1x SFO, IAD). If you factor in the AC flights, I think that means we have flights to all of UA’s hubs.

Gonna be an interesting summer.

UA/AC squeak back to 10 daily with AC’s EWR and LAX once daily flights

As of right now, YYC-Transborder for S23 shows about 294 weekly flights to 24 destinations. (If my math is correct) on 7 airlines.

Pretty wild we went from no flights to WAS, to suddenly having 2 airlines. Also in 2019, we had links to just a single NE US destination (NYC) and now we have 3.

Here's the full breakdown (As of today).
SEA - 28x weekly (AS / WS)
PDX - 11x weekly (WS)
SFO - 21x weekly (WS / UA)
LAX - 27x weekly (WS / AC / Y9)
SNA - 3x weekly (WS)
SAN - 4x weekly (WS)
PSP - 4x weekly (WS)
LAS - 25x weekly (WS / Y9)
PHX - 18x weekly (WS / Y9)
DEN - 16x weekly (UA / WS)
DFW - 14x weekly (AA)
IAH - 25x weekly (UA / WS)
BNA - 3x weekly (WS)
AUS - 2x weekly (WS)
ORD - 25x weekly (UA / AA / WS)
MSP - 14x weekly (DL)
SLC - 14x weekly (DL)
BOS - 4x weekly (WS)
JFK - 4x weekly (WS)
EWR - 7x weekly (AC)
IAD - 10x weekly (UA / WS)
ATL - 7x weekly (WS)
MCO - 3x weekly (WS)
DTW - 5x weekly (WS)

Breakdown by airline:
WS - 147 weekly
UA - 56 weekly
DL - 28 weekly
AA - 21 weekly
AS- 14 weekly
AC - 14 weekly
Y9 - 14 weekly

I didn’t look at the list in detail but AS to SEA is going to be only 10 weekly. The second flight (departs at 1915 operates MON/THU/FRI only)

Pretty sad of AC to be outdone like that by US airlines at YYC.

I expect more from the “national” airline.
